FOTD and Buxom Lip Stick Review

MAC Seedy Pearl e/s on lid
MAC Memorabilia e/s outer corner
MAC Romping e/s in crease
MAC Brule e/s to highlight
MAC Nightfish fluidline

MAC Sculpt powder
MAC Pleasantry Mineralize blush

Bare Escentuals Buxom Big & Healthy Lip Stick in Monte Carlo

Las Vegas ~ Monte Carlo

I bought these a few weeks ago and this is what I think of them.

Packaging ~ I really like the packaging. It's like a long fat lip pencil but it's a lipstick. This makes it really easy for applying so there is no need for a lip pencil because you can line with this as well.

Consistency ~ These are really smooth and creamy when swatched and first applied to the lips but after a minute when it sets it is pretty drying. It's best to wear a gloss or lip balm on top.

Lasting ability ~ These last for a long time probably because it dries out on the lips but it does last. It lasted on me for about six hours.

Plumping ~ Online it says it plumps them to their full buxom potential. I can't really tell if this plumps like it says. My lips are already full so it's hard to tell.

Tingle ~ This does have that minty tingle since it claimes to plump the lips. I don't really find the tingle bad. It's more of a cool minty feeling. The cooling feeling does last awhile. It doesn't burn, at least not to me.

Price ~ $18 This is a bit pricy for a lipstick.

Overall I really like these. I love the colors. I love the minty feeling and that it lasts, and that it's quick and easy to apply. I don't really mind that it's drying because a little MAC Tendertone on top solves that nicely. :-)

Benefit Boi-ing~Eye Bright duo review and Update on my Contest

Boi-ing / Eye Bright

I picked up this duo at Sephora two weeks ago. I had wanted to try both of these products for a long time. It was one of those things that I didn't really need to have so I always put it off, because the Eye Bright is $20 and Boi-ing is $18. I would have rather spent that money on lipsticks or eye shadows, you know the fun stuff! :-)

When I was at Sephora two weeks ago they had this duo at the checkout for only $8. I thought that was a good deal to try both products out.

I've been using it for the two weeks now, and this is what I think of it.

Packaging ~ The packaging is small, cute, and sleek black, but it does get fingerprint smudges on it.

Eye Bright side ~ This originally comes in a chunky pencil that you sharpen. I have it in pan form in the duo. The consistency of this feels dry. It says online that you use this to brighten up your inner and outer corners of your eyes. I have also used it to highlight the brow bone and highlight the cupids bow. I think this product is ok but I prefer my Mally eye brightener.

Boi-ing ~ The shade is 02 Medium. The consistency of this is really creamy. It has a lot of slip to it which makes it easy to blend BUT I don't think this does a good job at covering the under eye darkness. Online they say it's an industrial-strength concealer. I completely disagree. This didn't really cover much plus what it did cover didn't last at all. It faded within an hour. I was not happy with this concealer at all.

Would I buy this again, No. Would I recommend this, No.

Overall I just thought the Eye Bright was ok, but I think there are better brighteners out there. There are WAY better concealers out there as well in my opinion.

One last thing I wanted to mention, I know I posted in one of my last posts about doing a contest or giveaway for reaching 100 followers. I have been getting prizes here and there for it. I'm thinking of putting it off for a few weeks because we are getting closer to Halloween and I REALLY want to do a Halloween contest! FYI I'm a HUGE HUGE lover of Halloween! I LOVE taking my son trick or treating and I LOVE dressing up and doing crazy makeup! So that's what I am probably going to do. What do you think about that? Let me know. :-)

MAC ~ Makeup Art Cosmetics

I picked up some things from this collection when it came out on Thursday. I was really excited to check it out. Everything was so beautiful but most of it looked like stuff I already have so I didn't really get much. If I didn't have so much makeup or was just starting out I would buy more because it is a beautiful collection. I did get Mairas's Mood and Haunting eye shadows. I also got the four colored Technakohl liners in Full of Fuchsia, Obviously Orange, Colour Matters, and Artistic License.

These shadows don't have the best color payoff. I had to really pack it on for the color to show up as it does in the pan, but they are pretty.

Swatches top to bottom
Artistic License
Colour Matters
Obviously Orange
Full of Fuchsia

I really like these liners. I have been wanting a bright pink eyeliner for some time. I would have preferred these in Powerpoint form because Powerpoints are smoother and just glide on but I'm still enjoying these either way. They are really fun colors.

Here is an FOTD. It was requested for me to do a Kim K inspired look. I toned it WAY down because it was my sons first day of Kindergarten so I didn't want to look too dramatic you know.
I'm having trouble trying to upload the pic of Kim that I used as inspiration. I have been having lots of troubles actually trying to upload pics that are from the web. I save it but it's not showing up in the folder when I try to upload it. I'll keep trying to upload it though. I hope you enjoy the FOTD either way. :-)

Ocean Love Potion and Sephora by OPI review

Vanessa from PinkObsession asked if I could do a nail swatch of Ocean Love Potion. So here it is. :-)

I really love this color. It's a pretty aqua/teal color.

I didn't really have an interest in these when they first came out. I read some reviews after a couple weeks and they didn't seem too great. I didn't think I would like them.

One day that I dropped into Sephora one color caught my eye. It was How Cute is That?. When I used it for the first time I instantly loved it. That led me to get another and another. Now I have four Sephora by OPI nail polishes. My latest being Ocean Love Potion and Dark Room.

Packaging ~ The packaging is nice and basic.

Brush ~ The brush is not the pro wide brush that's on the regular OPI nail lacquers, but it is a nice brush. I have no problems with it.

Consistency ~ The consistency is nice. Not thick or too thin at least on the ones I own. I get a nice even finish. Some of the reviews said they were streaky, some said too thick, some said too thin. There might be some that are but the ones I have are great.

Chipping ~ I always use a top coat and don't ever have a problem with chipping. I usually just get some wear and fading at the edge after about five or six days.

Price ~ The price for these are $9. That is kind of a lot for nail polish, especially when compared to China Glaze which I love, that you can get for like $3.50.

So over all I am really happy with these. I will continue to purchase these as long as I see colors that I like.

You can find these online at and in Sephora stores.

Sephora/MAC shopping

I went to Sephora and MAC yesterday and got some stuff. At Sephora I got the Double-Ended Perfect Complexion Brush($35), Benefit Boi-ing/Eye Bright duo($8), Sephora by OPI nail polish in Ocean Love Potion($9), and two Bare Escentuals Buxom Big & Healthy Lip Sticks in Las Vegas and Monte Carlo($18 each). From MAC I got Smoke & Diamonds eye shadow($14.50).

The brush

Quick initial review on this brush. It bled a lot of pink dye when I washed it last night. It shed a few hairs. It's also not the softest brush but it gets the job done. This isn't a must have brush. I really only bought it because it's bright pink! Haha!

Ocean Love Potion
Sorry no swatches on the nails for this. I had just painted my nails that morning so I didn't feel like doing them again. :D If you want to see a nail swatch though let me know and I'll get it done in a few days after this one I have on chips.

Smoke & Diamonds, Boi-ing, Eye Bright, Las Vegas, and Monte Carlo.

I'll be posting a review for the Buxom lipsticks soon!
I'm still trying to figure out what kind of contest I want to do for reaching 100 followers, but as soon as I figure it all out I'll post that up!

I never thought I would get no where near 100. I just wanted to thank all of you for following and commenting. It really means a lot to me!

This is so exciting to me. I will be doing another giveaway or contest for this. I'm not sure yet what I will do, but I will do something!

Thank you so much!

Crystal :-)

I'm a Barbie girl...

In a Barbie world!

Hahaha....That song came out when I was in junior high and I loved it!

Last week we took my son to Toys R Us. I saw this Barbie Ipod dock while we were there. I thought it was so cute! The other day I was thinking about it and thought I could really use it for my room for when I'm doing my makeup. My husband went and picked it up this weekend for me. :-)

Now I know I am a grown woman but who can resist Barbie? I can't, I Love Barbie! :-)

It was only $20, ($19.95 on clearance actually) and it works really well. So I am happy with it, and it looks so cute with my pink Ipod! :-)

If you push the little gem above Barbie, it lights up!

Tag / Award

So I was tagged/awarded by Resham from DAZZLE-n-SPARKLE,

For the Freakin' Fabulous Blog award. Thanks for the tag!

The rules with this award are:
1. List five current obsessions
2. Pass the award on to five more fabulous blogs
3. On your post of receiving this award, link back to the person that awarded you
4. Link your five winners, and let them know that they've been awarded

Current Obsessions
1. My first obsession has to be blogging! I love it! I'm so glad I started to blog because I have learned about so many new makeup lines and have come across so many nice people! I love reading everyone elses blogs and reading your comments you leave for me! I Love it!

2. My next obsession has to be Barry M cosmetics. Ever since my swap with TalluluhBella, I am just in love with everything. Now I want more! I wish it was sold here in the U.S.

3. My Coach Poppy bag! It's my new love! I have used it everyday since I got it! Although I didn't take it to the fair, I wasn't going to risk it getting damaged by some drunk person there! :-P

4. My Ipod. I was keeping it old school and still using CDs until like 3 months ago. My husband and brother would laugh at me about it because they both have ipods. I never cared to get one until all the colorful ones came out. Well about 3 months ago me and my husband were at the mall. I went in to Sephora and he told me he would be right back, after I was done we went home. I sat at my desk and he started to ask me what I bought he wanted to see my new stuff from Sephora, then I turn to my desk and there it was standing there. My PINK IPOD! I had no idea he bought it! I was so happy I cried...haha. He's so great! I love him! So yeah I've been downloading lots of music lately and I heart it so much! :-)

5. So my last but definitely not least obsession has to be Vampires! I am OBSESSED with the Twilight Saga and now I'm hooked on True Blood! Oh how I love Edward! :-)

So the people I tag/award are
1. Cristina ~
2. Noelle ~
3. Yi ~
4. Christina ~
5. Louise ~

MAC, Studio Sculpt, and Hello Kitty

So I know I am a bit late here with this but I picked up Cheeky Bronze Mineralize Skinfinish at MAC as well as Ruby Woo lipstick. I also got a sample of Studio Sculpt foundation.

I love Cheeky Bronze. It's a peachy bronzy color. It's just so pretty.
And well who doesn't love red lips, Ruby Woo is an intense bright bold red. It's beautiful!

I picked this stuff up a week ago. They gave me a FULL sample of Studio Sculpt. I have used it this past week and I just don't like it. I'm glad I just got a sample otherwise I would have had to return it. It just didn't work for me. I felt like it didn't give me the coverage that I wanted and it just made me look shiny right away. I also didn't think it blended in well. It looked like makeup you know, just really cakey...blah...not for me....I'll stick to my Estee Lauder foundation for now.

Stopped at Target as well and I found this cute pencil bag but you know I'm using it as a makeup bag. Fun fact for you all, besides collecting makeup I also like to collect makeup bags (I have tons of them) and Hello Kitty stuff. I love Hello Kitty! She is so cute! I have tons of Hello Kitty stuff too. So of course when I saw this I had to have it! :-)

So do you have any other obsessions besides makeup?

I'm about to head out to the Fair in a few hours. Taking my son to see Dora and Diego! :-)

Who's ready for Fall? ~ Dior Fall 09

I know I am! I know most people love the Summer, but I don't. Where I live in California it gets up to 109, 110 degrees! I'm over it! So this is why I look forward to Fall. I love the Fall. Everything about it is beautiful, the weather, the trees, the colors, the clothes, and of course the makeup collections.

I love bold lips and eyes together. It's easier to get away with this look during the Fall.

This brings me to the Dior Fall 2009 Jazz Club collection.

I love this collection so much. I picked up the 5-colour eyeshadow palette in Night Butterfly #173. It is so beautiful. It has a purple, light pink, smokey grey, deep plum, and a sparkly black color in the center.

You can easily create a soft look or a dark smokey look with this palette.

My Macys counter has this collection out already so I had a chance to check it all out. They have some really beautiful berry color lipsticks and glosses in this collection as well as another eye palette, duo eyeshadow, single shadow, and nail lacquers. I'm going to go back for the lip stuff maybe this week if I have time.

You can find this collection at and doesn't have it up yet but it is in stores already. So check it out.
This palette retails for $56

Here are some swatches of the 5-colour eyeshadow palette, with no base.
