Cute New Bag ~ nicole lee U.S.A.

Not only do I have a love (addiction, ha ha) for makeup but I also have it for bags as well.

I have been carrying a purse since I was like 5 or 6 years old. I remember the one I carried was white, with tan trim, with a long strap (it was the 90's). I would carry it on my shoulder or cross body. Why would a 6 year old carry a purse or what would she even need to carry around with her? Well stickers, you never know when you'll need those! An orange in case she gets hungry. Paper and pens to doodle, a jump rope, and lipstick of course!

Yes I would carry this around all the time and I thought I was so cool! :D

So naturally my love for handbags has carried on just like my love for makeup.

I bought my first Coach bag last summer and I loved it. I have a few other I guess what you would call name brand bags. I have a few Betsey Johnson bags, a Juicy Couture bag, and a couple other leather bags. I also have quite a few Kathy Van Zeeland bags, which are moderately priced cute bags. I'm hoping to get a LV bag sometime this year!

BUT I can't buy pricey bags all the time, so I look to TJ Maxx and Marshall's to find good deals on some nicer quality bags.

I love what a nice bag can do for a simple outfit! Bags are great ways to turn a simple look into something more because the bag is part of the outfit and can become the focus of your look.

I was in Marshall's about two weeks ago. I actually wasn't looking to buy a bag I was just in there while my husband was at the bank next door. So I'm browsing around the bags, then this sequined bag stopped me in my tracks! The sequins were catching all the light and it looked so pretty! I love anything that sparkles, has glitter, shimmer or sequins! I am just drawn to stuff that sparkles! So I of course had to have this bag! I must have been a drag queen in another life! :D

The round thing is just the price tag.

How cute is the lining!?! :-)

The bag is from a brand called nicole lee U.S.A., which I had never heard of. On the hang tag there was a website listed so when I came home I quickly checked it out. They have some super cute bags! They have really great designs. They have SO many designs and styles to choose from that there's a bag for any ones taste.

They get a lot inspiration from designers collections and travel overseas to find new designs and trends. They have new bags every season.

They mix different textures, add embellishments, sequins, and studs!

They are moderately priced from $32 to $92. Which I don't think is bad. We all want great designs but we all can't spend $400 on a bag so I think these are great!

I have been using my bag every day since I got it and I really love it. It's really easy to get my things in and out of it. I hate when some bags don't have a nice opening and pulling your stuff out is a problem!
It's comfortable and I have gotten many compliments on it. I'm going to love using it in the Spring as well.

These are some of the bags I am LOVING on the site
My favorite are the first 3, love them, need to have them!

Online they ship to the USA and Canada but they will ship worldwide if you order through a sales representative

You can order online here

I emailed them to ask them a few questions if they ship worldwide and whatnot. Well I had a reply back right away plus they have some of the nicest customer service I have come across. I am BIG on customer service! There is a company who gave me terrible customer service so I never ordered from them again!

Overall I am very happy with my bag and hope to get some more.

Definitley check them out if your looking for a new bag.

Have you ever heard of nicole lee bags? Do you have one? What do you think of them? Let me know in the comments.

Clairol Pro Jazzing Hair Color Review ~ Giveaway

I used to color my hair ALL the time in high school. I ended up damaging it pretty bad. My hair had become really dry and always seemed to have split ends. I finally got sick of it so I decided I would quit coloring my hair. It took a couple years for all the color treated hair to be all chopped off, (I have always had long hair) because I wasn't about to cut my hair extremely short just to get rid of all the dryness.

Well my hair became really healthy again which I loved but still always longed for pretty highlighted hair.

I was recently contacted to try out a temporary/semi-permanent hair color. I thought this would be perfect for me so I decided to give it a try.

The hair color I sampled is Clairol Professional Jazzing hair color.

From Clairol:
* Contains No ammonia and No peroxide
* Use immediately after relaxer service
* Enhance, refresh, brighten, shine and condition
* For natural, colored, permed, relaxed hair
* Pre-lighten hair first for vivid shade
* Comes in 18 shades!

I went to Sally Beauty Supply and bought some foils because I was going to apply it as highlights. I didn't want it bright so I did not bleach my hair before.

There is no mixing of anything required for this hair color. You just put it on and go! I really like that.

A couple cons with this hair color are that it doesn't come with a conditioner or gloves. I have conditioner on hand because I always condition my hair and I had a box of gloves from when I went to Beauty School. So it wasn't necessarily a con for me but I could see how it would be for someone else so just make sure you have some gloves and a good conditioner.

It says if you want temporary color to leave it in for 5-10 minutes and for semi-permanent apply heat and leave in for 30 minutes. If applied without heat it should last 1-2 shampoos and applied with heat it should last 4-8 shampoos.

I used the color Black Cherry.

(Photo above is not my hair, just a color swatch of the color I used)
I had some time last week on Friday morning and colored it. I left it in for about 20 minutes and applied some heat.

After applying it and letting it sit, I rinsed and conditioned it. I then let my hair air dry and flat ironed it to get a look at the color. My hair naturally is dark brown so it's hard to see the color indoors. In the sunlight you can see a little dimension in my hair, which is nice because I wanted it to look subtle and natural and it does.

I have washed it 3 times since Friday and it's faded quite a bit which I don't mind because I can change it up again if I wanted to. The color in my hair looked more like an auburn brown/red, then what the swatch looks like. Since applying it my hair never felt dry. It looked really shiny, afterward. I actually ended up really liking this. I plan on trying one of the other colors. I really like the idea of it lasting a few shampoos then you can try another color!

I don't plan on coloring my hair all the time now but I'm glad I have found something that I can use for fun, then it will be gone after a few washes. I really never liked dealing with the up-keep of having highlights and having to re-do roots every few weeks so this hair color is great for that.
I tried to take some pictures but I wasn't able to get any good shots to see the color because it's been nothing but clouds for weeks now!

You can find Jazzing Hair Color at Sally Beauty Supply. It runs around $6 or $7 per bottle. If you have a Sally's card then you get a discount on it. Right now online it is on sale for $5!

Also check out there Facebook Fan Page where you can enter there Fierce Fridays Sweepstakes to win prizes! You can also follow on twitter @FierceFridays.

So on to the best part of this post if you would like to try this hair color out you can enter here! I have 2 colors to give away. I have a Black Cherry and a Spiced Cognac.

Swatch of Spiced Cognac

What do you have to do to enter you ask? Well just leave me a comment telling me which color you would like to try, the Black Cherry or Spiced Cognac. Two winners will randomly be chosen out of a can by my baby, one winner for each color. It's that easy! If you would like an extra entry you can blog and link my giveaway.

Of course hair color is a very personal choice but if you think you would like to try one of the shades I have available, go ahead and enter! :-)

Giveaway will end February 3! Last day to enter is February 2!

I Forgot to add the giveaway is open to ALL followers, US and International! I would never leave my International followers out as long as I'm shipping the product! :-)

Sally Hansen Nail Art Pen, NOTD, Review

I bought this Sally Hansen Nail Art pen maybe three months ago and have never really used it. When I bought it I played with it a little then it ended up sitting in my nail polish stash since then. A few days ago I remembered I had it and decided to pull it out and really do my nails with it.

I bought it in the color Hot Pink.

This is what the Sally Hansen Website says about it:
*Unique pen and fast-drying formula allows anyone to "Design & Go!" Create nail designs over any nail color.
*Fine-tip pen makes it easy to control and draw precise lines for a French Manicure.
*Mistake-proof formula can be removed or corrected with a moist cotton swab without damaging dry nail polish.
*Water-based formula is environmentally friendly.
*Great for French Pedicure tips too!
*Available in 8 designable shades.
*Toluene, DBP, and Formaldehyde free.

I drew some hearts, stars, and other designs and it was very cute and easy to do. I have used those nail polishes with the very long brush to do designs on your nails but this was SO much easier! It also didn't ooze out. I wanted to do a pink french tip though so I took the hearts off and did my tips pink.

I have also used the Nail Color Pen(below) before to try and do a french tip but did not like it at all. With this you have to click it so the nail polish comes out but sometimes too much came out, then it would get clumpy. I did not like these. It was just a mess.

I am very pleased with the Sally Hansen Nail Art Pen though.

I love the fine tip vs the brush on the nail color pen. The color comes out when you hold it down on your nail. It does dry fast. I haven't had any chipping but I do have a top coat on. Also the color seems to dry with a matte finish so if you want it to shine you need a top coat but that isn't a problem for me because I always wear a top coat. I also love that it's Toluene, DBP, and Formaldehyde free, I'm sure we all want that! It's super easy to use and you can toss it in your bag and take it with you. I really love this nail art pen and plan on getting more colors. I do hope they come out with other colors though! I'd love a teal, green, and purple color Sally Hansen!!! :D

They run about $6 to $8 depending on where you get it and if there is a sale.

Have you used the Nail Art Pen before? What did you think about it?
If you like doing french tips but have trouble with a regular nail polish brush give this nail art pen a try!

You can find these at various drugstores, Target, WalMart, Ulta and online at

Rethink What Matters

Bare Escentuals is launching a new campaign called Rethink What Matters.

They are encouraging you to rethink makeup and what it means. It's about enhancing your beauty and not covering imperfections. Every week they will pose a new topic with five questions. This week the topic is Rethink Going Bare in Public. You will also have the chance to win prizes every week for taking part in answering the questions!

They will be taking the campaign to the streets in San Francisco, New York City, and Chicago and giving women make-unders and samples. You can visit to find out further information on dates and times.

So this leaves me with a question for you all, do you or would you go out in public completely bare with no makeup on at all?

Well I want to say I don't think I could but I have. I was sick last year and in the hospital. The whole time there I kept thinking in my head omg I don't have any makeup on how embarrassing but when I think back on it now that was really silly because who cares, I was sick! I used to only wear powder and lipstick but over the last 6 years that has grown to a full face of makeup. I guess we just have to remember that we are wearing makeup for ourselves and no one else.

Let me know your answers in the comments. Be sure to check out and enter the contests while you are there. I might have something for you to win as well in a few weeks! ;-)

Haiti Help! ~ Disturbing News!

I was just watching the news! They were showing a lot of really disturbing things! It's all really sad but the thing that was the hardest for me to see was dead babies and children! They showed an 11 year old girl whose legs were trapped under concrete. She was awake and talking and they were giving her water. They then cut to Anderson Cooper who says they were able to rescue her. At that moment I felt relieved then he says later at the hospital she didn't make it! I was in tears! This is just really sad! I have a baby (well he's 5 but he's still my baby) I can't even imagine what they are going through! It's truly heartbreaking!

I made a donation already and I encourage you to make one as well!

You can find various organizations to donate to by clicking here

You can also make a donation by texting HAITI 90999 to donate $10 to the American Red Cross.

Every little bit helps!

My Top Beauty Products of 2009!/Reviews

I was very lucky to be able to try so many new products throughout 2009! These are my absolute favorites that I would recommend to anyone! I'm going to cover everything from eyes, lips, skincare, and even brushes! A lot of these I have done reviews on and some I have yet to cover here on my blog!

Favorite Cleanser
Philosophy Purity Made Simple

I did a review on this awhile back. In short this is the BEST face wash I have ever used! My face feels super clean and fresh. It doesn't leave my skin dry or tight. It has also kept my skin from breaking out. I LOVE it!

Favorite Moisturizer
Estee Lauder Day Wear Plus
Love this. It keeps my skin hydrated and has an SPF 15!

Favorite Face Primer
Avon Face Perfector

When I got this I wasn't expecting much BUT it ended up being the best primer I have ever used. I like the way it feels on my skin. It didn't break me out and also has an SPF 20. Plus it's very affordable!

Favorite Foundation
Estee Lauder Double Matte

Best foundation I have ever used hands down! I have really oily skin and when I first used this I was amazed that It didn't melt off my face and I didn't have to touch up all day! The only problem I have with this is that there is no pump, therefore I have a MAC pump on it. The MAC pump doesn't fit perfectly but no foundation spills out so it will do. Repackage it with a pump Estee Lauder!!! :D

Favorite Eye Primer
Too Faced Shadow Insurance

I prefer this over UDPP. It just works better for me. No creasing eyeshadow with this!

Favorite Concealer
Rimmel Recover Concealer

This is my favorite concealer ever! I have been having some trouble finding it! Please don't discontinue this Rimmel! Lightweight concealer that covers well and brightens under my eyes.

Favorite Eye Base
Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow Liners and

Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay In Place ShadowCremes

Ok these are probable my biggest faves of the whole year. I love these cream shadows that several beauty lines have now! But Benefits and Estee Lauders have been my favorite of them all! I use them as a base on top of my Too Faced Shadow Insurance and I get no creasing at all! I also LOVE that you can use these as liners and they last all day with no smudging!

Favorite Eye Liner
Stila Smudge Pots

I tried Smudge Pots this year and wasn't expecting to like them. I was WRONG! I love these! New favorite eyeliners! I use these everyday! They don't smudge and last all day! Love all the pretty colors they came out with this year too!

Favorite Mascara
Rimmel The Max Volume Flash

I'm always trying new mascaras as I'm sure most of you do too. When it comes to mascara I try to use mostly drugstore and occasionally will try some higher end ones. I love this one because it thickens and lengthens my lashes and it's also a wetter consistency so it's easier to build up several coats. Love it!

Favorite Powder
MAC Mineralize Skin Finish Natural

I forgot how much I love this powder. I started using it again last year. This is a staple. It's the perfect powder to set your makeup with. It doesn't leave you looking cakey! Must have!

Favorite Lipstick
Benefit Lipsticks

I LOVE these lipsticks! They are so smooth and creamy. They feel really good on your lips and last all day. I have been using these everyday! I wish there was more colors though! :-)

Favorite Lipgloss
Givenchy Gloss Interdit Ultra-Shiny Color Plumping Effect

I love these! I got the small one from Sephora as a Beauty Insider and after I tried it I had to have more! I like my glosses to be very pigmented and these are perfect! They are not sticky and are just so beautiful!

Favorite Brushes
Sigma 12 Brush Set

I was REALLY unsure about these! I kept telling myself I wasn't going to get sucked into the youtube hype over these brushes but I caved! It seemed like a really good deal for 12 full size brushes. I am SO GLAD I bought these brushes! I have used them everyday (literally) since I received them! These are well worth it! If you want to read my in-depth review on them you can find it here

Favorite Eyeshadows
MAC eyeshadows
I have been using MAC eyeshadows for years but they are a tried and true favorite! I have no favorite color in particular because I have many but they are the shadows I use the most. They are pigmented and blend nicely. They will always be a favorite!

These are all my favorites of 2009! Have you tried any of these products? What are some of YOUR favorites of 09? Let me know in the comments. :-) If you have any questions feel free to ask!
