I bought this Sally Hansen Nail Art pen maybe three months ago and have never really used it. When I bought it I played with it a little then it ended up sitting in my nail polish stash since then. A few days ago I remembered I had it and decided to pull it out and really do my nails with it.
I bought it in the color Hot Pink.
This is what the Sally Hansen Website says about it:
*Unique pen and fast-drying formula allows anyone to "Design & Go!" Create nail designs over any nail color.
*Fine-tip pen makes it easy to control and draw precise lines for a French Manicure.
*Mistake-proof formula can be removed or corrected with a moist cotton swab without damaging dry nail polish.
*Water-based formula is environmentally friendly.
*Great for French Pedicure tips too!
*Available in 8 designable shades.
*Toluene, DBP, and Formaldehyde free.
I drew some hearts, stars, and other designs and it was very cute and easy to do. I have used those nail polishes with the very long brush to do designs on your nails but this was SO much easier! It also didn't ooze out. I wanted to do a pink french tip though so I took the hearts off and did my tips pink.
I have also used the Nail Color Pen(below) before to try and do a french tip but did not like it at all. With this you have to click it so the nail polish comes out but sometimes too much came out, then it would get clumpy. I did not like these. It was just a mess.
I am very pleased with the Sally Hansen Nail Art Pen though.
I love the fine tip vs the brush on the nail color pen. The color comes out when you hold it down on your nail. It does dry fast. I haven't had any chipping but I do have a top coat on. Also the color seems to dry with a matte finish so if you want it to shine you need a top coat but that isn't a problem for me because I always wear a top coat. I also love that it's Toluene, DBP, and Formaldehyde free, I'm sure we all want that! It's super easy to use and you can toss it in your bag and take it with you. I really love this nail art pen and plan on getting more colors. I do hope they come out with other colors though! I'd love a teal, green, and purple color Sally Hansen!!! :D
They run about $6 to $8 depending on where you get it and if there is a sale.
Have you used the Nail Art Pen before? What did you think about it?
If you like doing french tips but have trouble with a regular nail polish brush give this nail art pen a try!
You can find these at various drugstores, Target, WalMart, Ulta and online at walgreens.com.
