Update, Blogging Anniversary, Giveaway, IMATS, School

This week was my 1 year blogging anniversary! Lol!

I can't believe it's been a year already! It feels like just yesterday! I remember I was really nervous about blogging and posting my first post. I thought no one would like me or care what I have to say, but it's turned out great!

If you are thinking about starting a blog and are nervous or shy don't be, just do it! It's really a lot of fun and you'll make some great friends!

So because of my blogging anniversary I will be having a giveaway soon. I already have a few prizes but I need to get some more! Look at for that sometime soon! :)

I bought my tickets for IMATS! I'm so excited! I'll be there both days this year. I can not wait to go! Are any of you going?

Also I'm thinking about attending a makeup school. I think it would be a lot of fun. I am from northern California and I found a school in Roseville, CA. It's the VIP-CAT Academy of Cosmetic Arts. I would love to know if any of my readers have heard anything about this school, if it's any good? I would like to hear of others experience there if they attended, so please let me know if you have heard anything about it. :)

I know most people just think of Memorial Day as a holiday to party but don't forget to remember those who have served our country and are no longer with us.

To my hubby,
Honey I'm sorry for your friends you lost in Iraq! Thank you for everything you've done! I love you!

I hope you all enjoy your weekend!

Very Proud Marine Wife :)

Bobbi Brown Papaya Treatment Lip Shine SPF 15 and FOTD

I recently picked up one of Bobbi Brown's new Treatment Shine lipsticks in Papaya.

With Summer approaching I thought it would be great to pick up something with an SPF in it for my lips.

It's important to wear an SPF at all times but it's especially important in the hot Summer months when your spending more time in the sun. This particular lipstick has an SPF 15.

I saw this promo image of this girl wearing Papaya Lip Shine and I thought it was BEAUTIFUL!

What Bobbi Brown says
Lightweight, soft shine lipstick that doubles as a rejuvenating moisture treatment. It instantly comforts dry, chapped lips and provides long-term moisturization with natural Cocoa and Shea Butters, Jojoba, Apricot Kernel and Avocado oils. Peptides, along with Vitamin C, stimulate collagen production to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, while SPF15 helps prevent future sun damage.

I have had this for over a week and I am loving it!

It really is very moisturizing! It goes on very smooth and feels really great on the lips!

If you have dry, chapped lips this would be great for you.

They describe Papaya as a bright pink coral, which I think is right on. It has a subtle pink shimmer in it which is beautiful!

I would say that this is a medium-sheer coverage. It is very buildable though.

I also love the shine that this has. There is no need for a gloss.

It has a light scent, that I can't quite put my finger on it, maybe vanilla...but it's not strong at all.

The packaging is very sleek, black and gold! I love it!

I have been wearing this everyday since I got it. I absolutely love it and I plan on picking up a couple more colors!

Some swatches

Here is my fotd wearing my Papaya Lip Shine.
Eyes are Bobbi Brown Metallic Eye shadow in Penny on the lid
Mac Cork in the crease
Senna Espresso eyeshadow on outer corner
MAC Graphic Brown Fluidline to line upper lash line
Cheeks are Benefit Hoola and MAC Blush Of Youth Beauty Powder
Excuse my messy hair in my face! Sorry. :)

You can find the Bobbi Brown Treatment Lip Shine SPF 15 at your local counter or at for $22.

Have you tried these? What do you think of them? Share your thoughts in the comments.

Nails Of The Day OPI Dancing In The Isles

I first saw this this color on beauty blog and I loved it. I of course had to have it!

It's just a really pretty peachy/coral pink. It's not too bold or bright, it's soft and girly.

Application was great. I have two coats on.

This is a great color for Spring time, moving into Summer.

This color can be found at your local beauty supply or Ulta.

Smashbox Envy Eyeshadow!

No Flash

I like how the blurry shots pick up the glitter! :D

Lets all marvel this beauty of an eyeshadow, shall we?! :D

I have had this shadow for quite some time (like over a year) and I'm just posting about it.

Obviously there is major glitter happening here, so without a base it can be fall out city. The glitter is not chunky though, it's very fine.

I love to use it as a liner! I dampen my MAC 266 brush with MAC mixing medium and grab some eyeshadow on the brush and run it across the lash line. It looks really pretty with the multi-color glitter catching the light! I love it! I also love using it on top of my Black Stila Smudge Pot or Black Track Fluidline. Smashbox does not claim that you can use their shadows wet, do so at your own risk. Nothing has happened to my shadow since using it wet, many times before.

You might not like it for daytime, (I do but that's just how I!) but if your looking for a fun eyeshadow for nights out, then this is it!

If your really daring or you love really dark smokey eyes pat a black gel liner all over your lid, pat some Smashbox Envy on top and you have an amazing, sparkly, smokey eye perfect for going out!

Used dry on top, with mixing medium on the bottom.
Mixing medium intensifies the color and makes the glitter really stand out!

Smashbox Envy eyeshadow can be found on for $16

Do you have Envy eyeshadow? What do you think of it?

Ojon Revitalizing Mist Review ~ Haircare

I have received a few emails asking what I use in my hair and my hair care routine so I will share that with you now. :)

My hair is naturally wavy/curly. I haven't colored it in like five years. I got really tired of having to keep up with root touch-ups. So my color is all natural now.

I flat iron my hair every other day. I only ever wear my hair curly if I don't have a lot of time because I can get that done quicker.

I don't really do much to my hair other than just flat iron it. For me that's enough.

I use Ojon Revitalizing Mist.

What is it?
A leave in conditioner that is suppose to seal the cuticle, help prevent color from fading, and reduce breakage and frizz. It is formulated with 100% pure Ojon nut oil.

Before you use it you have to shake it up really well because it separates.

I put this in my hair when it's damp. I split my hair in half ear to ear and will pump one spray on the lower layer of hair then a spray on the top, then I run my fingers through my hair to work it in. I let my hair air dry, then I straighten it with my ghd flat iron.

It does have a lasting scent to it that I love, although I have read many other people say they didn't like the smell. I can't really describe the scent but I enjoy it.

My thoughts
I really love this product. For me it works really well. Just be careful with how much you use because too much can make your hair look oily. It makes my hair so soft, smooth, and shiny. I also never have any problems with my hair getting frizzy when I use this. I love it!

Photo~ Used two pumps of Revitalizing Mist and then flat ironed. Super smooth! :)

Another product I use is Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Balm.

I work a pump of product through each side of my hair when I use this. Again like with the Ojon product, too much of the Super Skinny Balm can make your hair look oily and we don't want that, so be careful.

I really love this too because it protects your hair from heat and does essentially the same thing as the Revitalizing Mist. It also smells amazing!

I go back and fourth between these two products.

As for shampoo and conditioner I switch it up every so often and like to try new things. I have used lots of salon brands as well as drugstore brands but I always come back to Pantene.

It works well for me and their shampoos and conditioners smell great!

I have been using the smooth line for a long time and love it.

If I happen to have time to curl my hair with a curling iron and need to use hairspray, I use Sebastian Originals Shaper Plus. It's the best hair spray in my opinion. :-)

Products can be found at Ulta, your local salon, or drugstore.

So what are some of your favorite hair care products? Let me know in the comments.
