Naked Cosmetics Review

I picked up two stacks of eyeshadows from Naked Cosmetics while at IMATS. I thought I would share some swatches and let you know what I think of them.

Naked Cosmetics are all natural and do not contain talc, oil, wax or fillers.

This first set I got is called Desert Sunset. I was really drawn to these at the show. I really loved all of the colors and thought they would be very wearable, everyday colors.

Here are some swatches. First line is wet with MAC Mixing Medium and second row is dry.

The second set I got is called Ebony. I was torn between this one and another set that had really bright colors. I decided to go for this one since I have so many bright colors already.

You can create some really pretty smokey eyes with this set. They are very pretty as liners as well.

Some swatches.
First row is wet with MAC Mixing medium, second row is dry.

One thing I didn't like is the individual colors don't have names. The set is named but the colors are just numbered 1 though 6. I like things to have names because it's easier to find or repurchase if I needed to.

Price
They are pretty pricey but at the same time they aren't. A stack is $60 but when you break it down that's $10 per eyeshadow which isn't bad but as a whole it's pricey. I hope that makes sense. :)

I was able to get these for $25 per set at IMATS.

Packaging
The packaging is ok, maybe a little bulky, but you can screw them to each other so they are stacked so that's ok.

Use
Like most pigments and mineral makeup these can be used many different ways. You can use them wet, they can be mixed, and you can use them on the eyes, lips, cheeks, or nails.

Quality
As for the quality it's just ok. In all honesty I expected more. You can see in the dry swatches they aren't so pigmented. I think these need to be used wet to get the full effect.

Would I recommend these?
Well for the quality at the full price no, but if you can get them on a discount sure.

I don't hate these but I think there are better pigments out there. I will use them because they are pretty but I probably won't repurchase, if I do it will be in a year at IMATS so I can get them at a discount.

If you do want to purchase them you can find them at http://nakedcosmetics.net/.

Have you used Naked Cosmetics? What did you think of them? Let me know in the comments.

I've never tried this brand. I have to agree $60 for a stack of pigments seems like a lot. I'm sure you'll put them to good use though!
