Nails Of The Week~OPI~Hong Kong Collection

I picked up a couple of OPI nail polishes a few days ago. I wanted to check out the Hong Kong Collection.

From the Hong Kong Collection I picked up Suzi Says Feng Shui and Lucky Lucky Lavender. I also picked up Pink Flamenco from the Spain~España Fall 09 collection and Smitten With Mittens from the Holiday 09 collection.

I decided I would first do my nails with Suzi Says Feng Shui. I don't usually like how blue nail polish looks on me but this color was so pretty I had to try it.

I'm happy I picked it up because it's a beautiful blue, that works for me.

It's really a wearable blue. It's not too bright or loud even though it looks bright in the photos it is a subtle mid-tone dusty blue shade. It is a creme finish.

Like most OPI nail polishes the formula is great. Opaque even coverage in two coats and no chipping since I applied it a few days ago.

I really love this shade and I'm happy I got it. I have really been on a OPI kick lately. I bought some other shades last week too! I am going to start a new weekly post on my Nails of the Week. So I will be posting the other colors I got in the weeks to come!

The OPI Hong Kong Collection can be found at Ulta and your local Beauty Supply or Salon for $8.50.

Have you picked up any new colors from the Hong Kong collection? What are some of your favorite OPI nail polishes? Let me know in the comments.

I have to mention that I can't believe I am near 200 followers! That is insane to me! Haha! I never thought I would get one let alone 20! I really appreciate all your support and comments! You have no idea how much that means to me! If I reach 200 I will be having a giveaway!

Jesse's Girl Liquid Glass Lip Gloss Review/ Lancome Dupe

A few weeks ago I went to Right Aid, looking for the red Sally Hansen Nail Art Pen (review on those here http://www.lipglossgossip.com/2010/01/sally-hansen-nail-art-pen-notd-review.html), well I of course like any true makeup blogger, lover, junkie was checking out all the new makeup. I noticed these glosses at the end of the counter. They caught my eye because they were bright pink with lots of sparkles! Now if you have been reading my blog for awhile you have probably learned I LOVE anything PINK and anything that SPARKLES! There must be an 8 year old trapped in my body! Hehe!

I'm wearing MAC Beet Lip Pencil and Jesse's Girl Electric Rose in these photos.

So anyways I did something that I'm sure most of you have done at least once or most of you despise, haha... I swatched the color on my hand! SHHH!!! DON'T JUDGE! I had every intention of buying it even if I didn't like it. I must note that I don't ever do this but I don't ever buy makeup from drugstores either for this very reason of not be able to test anything. I like being able to play with everything at Sephora and Department Stores before I buy.

I feel guilty that I tested them but I'm glad I did because I LOVED them INSTANTLY! These are the Liquid Glass Lip Glosses from Jesse's Girl from a LE Collection called Electric Pink. There was also a nude shade but I paid no attention to that one because I'm all about COLOR! The pigmentation in these glosses are amazing.

They instantly reminded me of the Lancome La Laque Fever lipgloss (which I love) not only in texture but color as well.

Shock Wave ~ Jesse's Girl
Electric Rose ~ Jesse's Girl
Electric Pink La Laque Fever from Lancome

A blurry one to pick up the sparkles, it shows up better in blurry shots.

* The texture of these are really nice. It's not sticky.
* It has a bit of a fruity scent to it but it's not strong or annoying.
* The packaging is nice. It's different then there usual packaging but I like this one better.
* Electric Rose is a good dupe for the Lancome La Laque Fever in Electric Pink

These can only be found at Rite Aid. They are not sold online. They are also Limited Edition, which kinda sucks but hopefully they will bring them out again and in more colors! The Jesse's Girl Liquid Glass were about $5 each whereas the Lancome La Laque Fever Gloss is $26.50.

If you have been wanting the Lancome La Laque Fever in Electric Pink but are on a budget try Jesse's Girl Electric Rose!

If you want look at me, statement lips get these! You will be noticed when wearing these! I really love these and highly recommend them especially if you love fuchsia/red/hot pink lips! They are amazing!

Check your local Rite Aid.

Have you seen these? Have you tried them? What do you think? Let me know in the comments.

Disclaimer ~ I purchased these myself! I am not being payed for this review!

On a side note my postings have been slow coming because I have been sick with the flu, therefore making me lazy and not want to do anything! I got it a few days before the Super Bowl and am still feeling it! I don't have a fever anymore but I still have a stuffy nose (TMI? haha!) and have been getting really bad sinus headaches everyday because of it! I'm going to try to get back in the swing of things though! :-)

What did you do for Valentine's Day? I hope you all had a great one! I stayed home and spent it with the two people I love most, my hubby and my son! :-)

Tarte Flower Child Palette Review and Swatches

I got the Treasure Chest a couple months ago and ever since then I have been in love with Tarte eyeshadows. So when I saw this I had to get it.

First of all the palette is SO cute! I love the packaging. The flowers on top are so cute and don't get in the way. I have the Femme Naturale palette as well and that big flower on top of it is annoying and it's difficult to fit in to my makeup bag but I don't have that problem with the Flower Child Palette.

This limited edition color palette was created by Celebrity Makeup Artist Tina Turnbow.

This a a refillable palette, which can be used over and over, thus eliminating waste.

It contains no Parabens, Sulfates, Synthetic Fragrances, Synthetic Dyes, Petro-Chemicals, Phthalates, GMOs, Triclosan. It is also free from anilmal testing!

So I have been using this a lot since I got it and I really love it.

If you have not tried Tarte's eyeshadows you MUST! They are so pigmented, soft and smooth, and glide on so easily. They are easy to blend and work with.

I think you get a great set of colors in this palette. None of them are similar to the colors in the Treasure Chest so I was happy with that.

I also really love that they gave a matte soft brown that is perfect for the crease because I hate when you get a really nice palette without a good matte crease color. I always use matte shadows in my crease so that was perfect!

It comes with a double ended brush which I thought was great. One side was really great for blending and the other side was great for the outer corner and crease.

It also comes with a double ended eye liner. One side is a beautiful teal green color with some shimmer in it and the other side is a dark brown. These smudged after awhile. If I have a eyeliner that tends to be smudgy I set it with a powder and that eliminates the problem for me. When I first tried these though I used them on there own to test them and it did smudge.

Lastly it comes with a sample of there Natural Eye Primer with Firmitol.

This did not work for me at all. I used this and my eyeshadow had creased within an hour! It also claims it's suppose to tighten the eyelids and eye area and decrease the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. I don't really know if this would actually work for someone with mature skin but I didn't see any difference around my eye lids but then again I'm only 24. When it came to keeping my eyeshadow on though it just didn't work for me. I have no problem with them creasing when I use my Too Faced Shadow Insurance!

Natural light

Flash

Swatches from L to R in the same order as the palette are
1st row
Shimmering Soft Daffodil, Shimmering Ecru Hibiscus, Shimmering Pink Peony, Shimmering Gray Periwinkle Shimmering Peach Tulip
2nd Row
Shimmering Firewheel, Matte Buttercup, Shimmering African Violet, Shimmering Delphinium Blue, and Shimmering Vibrant Forest Green

The Tarte Flower Child Palette can currently be found at Sephora stores and Sephora.com for $44.

Overall I love the palette and the shadows, the liners are ok, and the primer is a NO for me.

I used these shadows in my previous FOTD that can be found here http://www.lipglossgossip.com/2010/02/fotd-valentines-look-glam.html

Do you have the Flower Child Palette? What do you think of it? Have you tried Tarte eyeshadows? Let me know your thoughts in the comments.
