Essie Nail Of The Day

This is a quick nail of the day. It feels like it has been forever since I posted one of these!

I have been changing my nail polish frequently and don't ever find the time to take photos.

A new Ulta opened last week in my city so I picked up a few things. I bought an Essie nail polish in Splash Of Grenadine.

I have been wearing this color for about four days already and as you can see I have a small chip at the tip of my nail, but it's not too bad.

I haven't been a very big fan of Essie nail polishes in the past but I quite like this color and was pleased with the consistency. I am wearing two coats.

This is a very pretty, girly color that's perfect for Spring or Summer.

Natural Light/no flash

Splash of Grenadine can be found at your local Ulta for $8.

What do you think of this color or Essie nail polish in general? Let me know in the comments. :)

In other news
I still haven't got around to posting my giveaway but I already took photos of the prizes so I will get to it soon! If you follow me on Twitter you already know what one of the prizes is and it's good! If not you can follow me @LipGlossGossip . :)

Naked Cosmetics Review

I picked up two stacks of eyeshadows from Naked Cosmetics while at IMATS. I thought I would share some swatches and let you know what I think of them.

Naked Cosmetics are all natural and do not contain talc, oil, wax or fillers.

This first set I got is called Desert Sunset. I was really drawn to these at the show. I really loved all of the colors and thought they would be very wearable, everyday colors.

Here are some swatches. First line is wet with MAC Mixing Medium and second row is dry.

The second set I got is called Ebony. I was torn between this one and another set that had really bright colors. I decided to go for this one since I have so many bright colors already.

You can create some really pretty smokey eyes with this set. They are very pretty as liners as well.

Some swatches.
First row is wet with MAC Mixing medium, second row is dry.

One thing I didn't like is the individual colors don't have names. The set is named but the colors are just numbered 1 though 6. I like things to have names because it's easier to find or repurchase if I needed to.

Price
They are pretty pricey but at the same time they aren't. A stack is $60 but when you break it down that's $10 per eyeshadow which isn't bad but as a whole it's pricey. I hope that makes sense. :)

I was able to get these for $25 per set at IMATS.

Packaging
The packaging is ok, maybe a little bulky, but you can screw them to each other so they are stacked so that's ok.

Use
Like most pigments and mineral makeup these can be used many different ways. You can use them wet, they can be mixed, and you can use them on the eyes, lips, cheeks, or nails.

Quality
As for the quality it's just ok. In all honesty I expected more. You can see in the dry swatches they aren't so pigmented. I think these need to be used wet to get the full effect.

Would I recommend these?
Well for the quality at the full price no, but if you can get them on a discount sure.

I don't hate these but I think there are better pigments out there. I will use them because they are pretty but I probably won't repurchase, if I do it will be in a year at IMATS so I can get them at a discount.

If you do want to purchase them you can find them at http://nakedcosmetics.net/.

Have you used Naked Cosmetics? What did you think of them? Let me know in the comments.

Z Palettes

I picked these Z Palettes up from IMATS. I had never used them before but I figured I would get the large one because it might be useful.

Z Palettes are a palette with a full magnetic backing to hold a large amount of shadows. You can fit any size of shadows, blush, or foundations in the palettes.

The large one is great if your a makeup artist. You can really carry a lot of eyeshadows with you in one palette. I was able to fit 27 MAC eyeshadows in the large size. Of course the amount you can fit depends on how large the pans of product are.

I later went back and got the small palette.

In the small palette you can fit 9 MAC eyeshadows.

If you have depotted blushes then you need the small palette!

I have two MAC blush palettes because at one time I thought it would be a great idea to depot my MAC blushes. I didn't realize until after I was already done that I wouldn't be able to take a blush with me for the day if I was wearing it, because what would I put it in? MAC makes a small eyeshadow palette that's great for keeping your eyeshadows your wearing for the day in but nothing to keep a blush in. Since then I haven't depotted any of my blushes.

Well with my new small Z Palette my problem is now solved. :)

I can fit any eyeshadows I am wearing for the day as well as a blush in the small palette. I will be depotting all my blushes now. :)

I am really loving these palettes. You can fit so much more in them. I definitely recommend them.

They also come in Pink, Zebra print, and Leopard print.

Large Z Palette $20
Small Z Palette $14

They offer FREE U.S. Shipping on all orders over $25. That is really great!

You can find these at http://www.zpalette.com/

Do you have any Z Palettes? What do you think of them? Let me know in the comments. :)

Interview with Sarah Lucero and Stila IMATS Haul!

I have been busy this past week and am barely getting around to posting this.

While I was at IMATS I headed over to the Stila Cosmetics booth to check if they had the new Smudge Stick liners because as you know I LOVE me some Smudge Pots! :D

Well right as I walk up, who comes to help me but none other than Sarah Lucero! OMG! I was SO excited that she was the one to help me. If you don't know who Sarah Lucero is, she is a Professional Makeup Artist and has worked on countless fashion shows and celebrities.

Hubby took a picture of her as I was talking with her. I didn't even think to take a picture WITH her, I was very overwhelmed, in a good way but still overwhelmed! :D

I asked her if they had the Smudge Stick liners and she right away brought them all over to show them to me.

We got to talking and I told her I was a blogger and I asked her if I could ask her some questions for my blog.

I asked her to share one of her best beauty tips for summer and she said to take very good care of your skin, "Clean your skin, have a great skincare routine for summer, exfoliate, hydrate, and sunscreen."

She also suggested to have a all in one foundation, like Stila's One Step Makeup. It's a primer, foundation, concealer, and powder in one. I will be giving a full review on it soon!

Also some of her favorite products for summer are the Smudge Stick liners, which I was there for so I was happy about that. They are waterproof and do not budge once they dry.

I picked up the Smudge Stick Eye Liners in Purple Tang and Silver Dollar.
First half of swatch shown with glitter liner on top.

Purple Tang is really dark, it looks more of a black with violet and blue shimmer in it. If you want a TRUE silver eye liner then Silver Dollar is your shade! It's such a pretty color! :)

She also showed me a Glitter Eye liner in Purple Silver, (shown above). She put it on top of the Smudge Sticks and it is beautiful! Unfortunately she told me this shade of Glitter Eye liner was an Asia Exclusive so it's not available in the U.S. but they did have it for IMATS. This is another reason you should go to IMATS, you can get your hands on items that you wouldn't regularly be able to! :)

I also picked up Jade Smudge Pot.

I am loving all my Stila goodies I picked up from IMATS!

I have to mention that Sarah is so sweet and beautiful! She took her time to chat with me and answer my questions! She is just wonderful and if you ever see her don't be afraid to go up and say hello, she is very nice! :)

Did you meet Sarah at IMATS? Have you tried the Smudge Stick Eye Liners and what did you think of them? Let me know in the comments.

IMATS, Warning Lots Of Pictures!

Here are some pictures from IMATS! :)

This felt very Lady Gaga to me. Can't you imagine her wearing this? :)

Pashur the body painter!

This pirate guy was awesome! He was totally in character! He even went into a wedding that was taking place at the Sheraton!

I loved this! Her makeup was beautiful! :)

This model was shopping for some NYX! :)

Some sculptures!

LASplash Glitters! :D

Naked Cosmetics

Student Competition

Well that's all my pictures. There was so much more I wanted to photograph, like makeup and stuff, but if you were there then you know how hard it was to squeeze in to buy something let alone photograph it.

I know the pictures are not the best quality (5 year old camera) but these give you an idea of what IMATS is like. I already plan on buying a fancy, shmancy new camera for next years IMATS! :D

These artists are amazing! I had so much fun! If you didn't make it out this year definitely go next year! I'm sure it's going to be even bigger and better!

If you have any questions just ask.
