Just yesterday I blogged about my dog being lost. She got out of our backyard. I have been so sad about it all week. It's been exactly one week that she has been gone.
Well I was in my backyard a few hours ago, when I heard a whimper that sounded like her. I called her name and heard the whimper again, so I ran in my house to open the front door and I could hear scratching on the door as I was opening it, and THERE SHE WAS!!!!
I couldn't believe she was home. I was so happy, my hands were shaking, I just couldn't believe she was in front of me again!
She was so happy to be home, she was jumping up and excited but she was also whimpering a lot. She doesn't have any physical injuries from what it looks like. We checked her legs, paws, and body.
She has lost some weight though. She also seems very weak. She went right over to the water bowl when she came in and was guzzling it down.
She doesn't want to eat though, so I am worried about that. We gave her dry food and she didn't want it so we tried wet dog food, but nope.
I made an appointment at the vets office so she can get checked up. The soonest they could see her is on Monday so I will update you all with what they tell me.
We have heard that dogs can experience Post Traumatic Stress and I think she might have it. She seems freaked out by her experience. She lead a very spoiled life before this so it must have been hard for her out in the street with no food, water, and love.
I'll make sure she gets everything she needs to be a happy, healthy dog again!
And by the way, my husband did cover the whole where she got out. We'll be taking extra precautions to make sure this doesn't happen again! :)
I'm just so happy to have her back!
Thank you all for all your support! You girls are the best!
UPDATE ~ As I was working on this post she started eating! I think she's going to be OK!

She looks a bit rough here but she's on the road to recovery! :)
