OCC Lip Tars, Review & Swatches!

At last months IMATS I stopped by the OCC booth and picked up a few more Lip Tars. The colors I got are Pageant, Harlot, and Trollop.

I have a few others that I love so I was happy to pick up some more. I would have liked to get more but the OCC booth was so packed and it was difficult to squeeze through and swatch other shades, but I'm glad I managed to get these three.

Pageant, Harlot, and Trollop.

The colors of these are very pigmented, as are ALL the lip tars. They are so beautiful!

They have a nice minty scent and are very long lasting.

The only issue is they can be a little drying on the lips after awhile, but a little lip balm or gloss on top can fix that.

As with all the Lip Tars, a LITTLE goes a LONG way! Do NOT squeeze this onto your lips like you would a normal gloss, you must apply with a lip brush.

My personal favorite lip brush to use is the Royal $ Langnickel C600 lip brush from their Silk Pro Line, which you can find here http://beautyusa.royalbrushstore.com/products/productdetail/BC600+-+SILK+LIP/part_number=BC600/201.2.1.1.43091.107241.93948.0.0?pp=12 . Royal & Langnickel is currently offering 20% off all orders! No code needed!

I definitely recommend OCC Lip Tars in any shade, they are all fabulous, as well as the R&L lip brush, best lip brush out there!

If you haven't seen my other post on Lip Tars with swatches, you can find that here http://www.lipglossgossip.com/2010/08/obsessive-compulsive-cosmetics-lip-tars.html .

You can find all the Lip Tars here http://www.occmakeup.com/lips.html , for $13.

What do you think of OCC Lip Tars? What are some of your favorite colors?

Brush Cup Holder New at Sigma Beauty & Coupon Code!

Sigma Beauty just launched the Brush Cup Holder, for sale on it's own! I think this is fantastic!

The brush holders originally came out with the Make Me Up brush kits, but you had to buy the whole kit to get the brush holder. Which for me, I already had those original brushes in black, so I didn't want to buy the whole kit just for the holder, but now that they are selling it by itself is perfect!

When it's open you can fill both ends up with brushes.

You can put all your brushes in the case and snap it shut, which is great for travel and to keep dust off of them.

I hope they bring them out in other colors as well!

These are only $20.

I'll be ordering mine soon! I could use some organization for all my Sigma Brushes! :D

You can get yours here http://www.sigmabeauty.com/product_p/bch01.htm?click=144 also you can use Coupon Code HB2011 to get 10% off your order!

Model In a Bottle Review

I have heard so many good things about Model In A Bottle, but was never really interested in trying it.

When I went to IMATS, they had a booth set up, and they also had a show special, that seemed like a pretty good deal so I picked it up.

The show special came with a full size Model In a Bottle makeup setting spray, eye makeup remover, Long lasting eyebrow sealer, an eyelash curler, and two makeup brushes.

Model In a Bottle
This was my first time ever trying this product and I wasn't sure how I would like it but it's an amazing product.

First off it smells amazing. I thought it was going to smell like alcohol but it has a nice slightly musky/floral smell. It's not very strong and you don't smell it all day, just when you first apply it.

You apply this after you have put on ALL your makeup, hold 10 to 12 inches away from your face, close your eyes and spray. It dries very quickly.

I tested this out in 105 degree weather and my makeup didn't budge! I was a bit shiny on my forehead, but my makeup was still intact. My blush didn't fade and one of the best things for me was my eyeliner hadn't ran down under my eyes! Love this stuff! It's like magic in a bottle! If you have oily skin and your makeup melts off, or you live where it's boiling hot right now, then you need this!

Eye Makeup Remover
I don't usually use eye makeup remover too often, because I use makeup removing wipes, but this one works great. It got off all my eyeshadow, and my waterproof gel liners.

Long Lasting Eyebrow Sealer
I was looking forward to trying this and using it with my Senna Cosmetics Brow Kit, that I picked up from IMATS as well. It definitely works great and holds your eyebrows in place all day, but you can't use too much otherwise your brows will look crusty like you have gel in your hair. A little goes a long way, so use the teeniest amount!

Eyelash Curler
The eyelash curler didn't work for me, which I was kinda bummed about because I thought it would be great to keep in my makeup bag since it is so portable but I just couldn't seem to fit all my eyelashes in the curler because my eyes are wide. I might still keep it in my bag for emergencies. As I typed emergencies, I thought that was funny, how bad of an emergency could I have for my eyelashes! Haha!

Travel Brushes
I thought these would just be some cheapo brushes, but these are actually really nice. They are so soft. They are made of natural and synthetic fibers. I love using the little one to blend shadow, highlight the brow bone, or set under eye concealer. The larger one I have been using for powder, blush, and bronzer. I definitely recommend these.

You can find all these items at http://modelinabottle.com/index.html or http://www.misikko.com/model-bottle.html . Misikko has it a little cheaper and they even sell a set that comes with Model In a Bottle, eye makeup remover, and the brushes for $34.99.

Have you tried Model In a Bottle? What did you think of it?

Brows with Eugenia Weston & Senna Cosmetics Haul/Review!

So as you know I went to IMATS in Pasadena last month and had an amazing time! One of my first stops was the Senna Cosmetics booth. I LOVE Senna Cosmetics. I feel like everyone should know about this brand and there amazing quality of products and customer service.

I of course picked up several goodies from their booth while I was there. I also got to meet Emmy nominated Eugenia Weston, the founder of Senna Cosmetics. She is an amazing celebrity makeup artist and a brow Guru!

I was thrilled that I had the opportunity to get my brows done by her at IMATS and she shared many tips with me that I will be sharing with you all.

You want to always start by combing the brows up and if you need to trim comb up and trim only what sticks out.

Then you will want to use a brow stencil and fill them in.

Then you can tweeze any hairs that are out of your filled in brows, and clean it up.

Check out your brows!

All done with perfect brows!

You can see them better in this picture.

More Brow tips from Eugenia

*Don't be afraid to cut your brows, just do it and make sure you cut at an angle.

*Graze along the skin to tweeze.

*Tweeze above the brow if necessary. I specifically asked her if this was ok and she said YES. I have always heard other so called brow and beauty experts say never tweeze above the brow, but I have always felt like I needed to, and Eugenia said definitely tweeze above the brow if you have to. She said it would be like shaving your legs only in the front and not the back! If you need to, then do it. :)

I was so happy with my brows when she was done. I wish she could do my brows everyday but her tips have helped me immensely.

On to the goodies I got!

I picked up this show special that includes everything you need to achieve great brows. It comes with 4 different size brow stencils, tweezers, brow color palette, brow brush, trimmers, and a highlight stick.

Brow palette

I chose the neutral kit. There was also a blonde and dark kit. The colors in the neutral brow palette are perfect for my dark hair. Even though I have dark brown hair, I have full brows so I feel like if I color in my brows with something as dark as my hair its too much, so the neutral kit is perfect as the shades are not too dark. They are brow powders so they are easy to work with and you can even use them as shadows.

Stencils
The stencils took some getting used to for me. It was hard for me to hold the stencil up to my brow with one hand how I needed to and fill them in with the other hand! I felt like my hand holding the stencil was in my way, blocking what I needed to do, but it's getting easier, and the outcome looks so good.

Highlighter

The highlight stick is double ended. I love this! This is one of my new favorite products. The thicker side has a shimmer in it, and the thin side is matte. You can use this to highlight your brow, your inner corners, or even use the smaller side to brighten up your waterline. I've also been using the shimmery side as a lid color and a eyeshadow base. It's so pretty.

Tweezers
I have raved about how much I love Tweezerman tweezers but I have to say I am really loving this pair from Senna and they are quickly replacing my tweezermans!

Overall this is a great set of products. Unfortunately they don't sell this set online but you can buy all the products individually.

I also picked up a couple of brushes. I bought the Airbrush Face #25 and the Baby Face #21. As you can probably tell, I have been using these a lot. The Airbrush face could use a wash! :D I can't say enough about Senna brushes! They are amazing! Super soft and don't shed! What more do you need. Both of these are multi-tasking brushes, so you can use them for powders, foundations, blush, and highlighters. I love them. Plus don't you just love the color of the handles!? Much cuter than basic black handles on most brushes.

I picked up a couple shadows from the Spring collection, and these are fabulous! Intense color payoff, and easy to blend. Colors swatched are Vivid and Chameleon.

Lastly I bought a lipstick in Last Tango and the Senna booth also had a jar for everyone to pick a free sample, so of course I went for the bright red gloss! Last Tango is such a pretty color for the Summer, it's a beautiful, creamy orangey/coral. I've been using this quite a bit lately. The gloss is actually a lip lacquer in Passion and this is the best thing EVER! If you read my blog, then you know I am a bright lip girl! I pretty much always have on a bright pink or red lip, if I don't I feel weird. I think I look better with bright lips, it's just my thing, so I am in love with this lip lacquer! It's not too sticky and lasts quite a long time. The color is just beautiful! I love it so much I need a backup, and will probably order one soon!

Me and the lovely Alison from Senna Cosmetics. She is so sweet! :)

Well that's my Senna Haul from IMATS. Sorry this post was so long, but if you got through it all, Thank You! :)

Nail of the Day, Sally Hansen Fairy Teal

I haven't done a nail of the day post in so long, but I love this color so I thought I would share.

Flash

Natural light

I recently picked this up from CVS, and I love the color! This is a Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure nail polish in Fairy Teal.

I really love these nail polishes and the formula is really great.

One negative about this specific color is when I went to remove it, it stained my nails and fingers like crazy! I never had a nail polish do that before, so I'm not sure why this one did.

Even though it was a hassle to remove, I still love the color and would recommend it.

You can find this at your local drugstore for about $7 or $8.

What do you think of this color? Have you tried any of the Complete Salon Manicure nail polishes?

IMATS L.A.2011, Saturday Day One!

Here are a ton of photos from my weekend at IMATS L.A.! Being 5 months pregnant at IMATS was a bit harder than I thought it would be, I got tired a lot faster and had to take several breaks and rest my feet, but I still had a great time like always, and can't wait for next years IMATS!

Huge line!!!

Almost there!! :)

Got to grab some bags for our shopping!

Big crowds everywhere!

The first place I wanted to stop by was the Sigma booth since this was their first year there. I wanted to check out their new Cleansing tool and swatch the shadows, but it was so packed everytime I stopped by so I didn't get much of a chance to squeeze through and do that. I did overhear though that they will be selling at next years IMATS, so that's exciting! I was only able to snap this pic of the new shadow palettes.

The next stop on my list was the Senna Cosmetics booth! Senna is not as easily accesible because it's not in department stores, Sephora, or Ulta, so I was glad to see all their products in person. This was my favorite booth at IMATS. I had a great time here because everyone was super friendly and took their time to chat with me. I also got my brows done and will have a post on that soon! I picked up some amazing stuff from the Senna booth!

Zombie!

He went from this

To this, and was crawling around the ground scaring people! :D

The OCC booth was CRAZY packed! I could barely get in to get some new lip tars, but I managed to get 3, which I will have swatches on soon!

Cute makeup booth.

Love this body painting!

Miss Mexico 08, getting her makeup done at the Royal & Langnickel booth.

Body painting at the Royal & Langnickel booth.

Super cute set up at the Model In a Bottle booth. I picked up this show special which I will review soon!

Me and Glenn Hetrick, one of the judges from Face Off, He's worked on X-Files, Buffy, Heroes, and more! :)

Me and Connor a contestant on Face Off. He's worked on The Vampire Diaries! :)

This is his work here.

Me and my Hubby! He wanted to take a pic with me because he said I was taking pics with so many other men! Haha! My brows look so perfect here! This was after I got them done by brow guru Eugenia Weston! :)

That's the end of Day one of IMATS.

Here is the link for day two http://www.lipglossgossip.com/2011/07/imats-la-sunday-day-two.html
