Bobbi Brown Dress for Success kit, Review

While on one of my Macy's trips, I strolled by the Bobbi Brown counter and saw they had come out with a new Dress for Success kit. I was pretty excited to see this because I purchased the Dress for Success kit that came out last year and I loved it!

This is everything you get in the kit, which includes a Black Ink gel eye liner, mini Ultra Fine liner brush, Best of Bobbi eyeshadow palette, Black Lash Glamour Mascara, and Bellini lip gloss for $60.

This is a great palette of neutrals. If you need a great makeup set for work, or something that you can wear everyday, this palette is for you. You won't need to worry if the shadows will work with what your wearing because they will go with everything!

The lip gloss in Bellini is a sheer shimmery pink. This is a great shade to add a little shimmery and shine to your lips! I always wear bold lipstick, but I love to use this on the center of my lips to really make them pop.

This was the first time I used Bobbi Brown's gel liner, so I was happy this was in the kit. While it's not the darkest black liner I have, I still like it. It doesn't smudge, which is always a plus. After using this one, I would like to get another shade.

I have a few of Bobbi's brushes and I love them. This one is a mini version, but I have actually been using this a lot lately. I love that is has a cap, so you can take it with you. This is different than the standard slanted eye liner brush, this one is rounded, which for some might be difficult to achieve a nice wing, but I like it.

Forgot to upload the mascara picture, but the Black Lash Glamour mascara is descent. It doesn't give you amazing faux lash, lashes but it's a nice everyday mascara. I didn't find it clumpy, but I did have a little flaking at the end of the day.

Shadows top from L to R Navajo, Stone, Champagne Quartz, Slate, & Heather
Bottom L to R Pebble and Hot Stone, Bellini lip gloss and Black Ink liner

Natural light

Overall I think this is a great kit. While the colors are nothing too special, this is a great set of neutrals for everyday wear.

Plus half of the money for this set goes to Dress for Success, which is great!

Bobbi's palettes usually run about $45 and up so this is a great value for everything you get. All of the products are full size as well.

Definitely check this out if you need some great everyday neutral shades.

This is no longer available online but you can find it at your nearest Macy's Store for $60.

Do you have the Dress For Success kit? What did you think of it?

Essie Navigate Her, Nail of the Day

I saw this Essie nail color in Navigate Her at my CVS a few weeks ago and didn't have anything like it, so I picked it up.

This probably isn't the most flattering color on all skin tones, and a lot of people might not like this color but I do. It kind of reminds me of vintage appliances. :D

The formula is a little thick, but the application wasn't bad. The first coat was a bit streaky, but a second coat evened it out.

This would be a great base color for nail art.

Navigate Her is part of Essie's Spring Collection. You can find it at your local Ulta or drugstore for $8.

What do you think of this shade of green? Is this something you would wear?

Gillette Venus & Olay Razor review!

This is another product I got in my Influenster Love VoxBox, and I thought why not post this review on the first day of Spring!

Spring brings warmer weather, sleeveless tops, shorts, and dresses, so you need to keep your skin smooth!

I have used the Venus Breeze razor for years, so I was excited to try the new Venus and Olay Razor.

The New Venus and Olay razor has 5 blades, so you get a very close shave, leaving you with super smooth legs.

It also has the two moisture bars, which I love because you don't have to use shave gel, it's one less step I need to do! The moisture bars also leave my skin so smooth!

Another thing I liked is the new Venus and Olay razor has a nice grip and squishy handle, so it won't slip out of your hands and accidentally cut you.

Five blades

This razor also comes with a suction shower hook, but I didn't really care for that, it just kept falling down. It's not a big deal for me though because I just keep my razor on one of the little shelves in my shower.

Overall this is a great razor and I definitely recommend it. This is not in store yet but look out for it soon! :)

What kind of razor do you use?

Kiss Nail Dress Stickers Review

I received these Kiss Nail Dress stickers from my Influenster Love VoxBox, and I was really excited to try them! I have never used any of these types of nail stickers before, not even the popular Sally Hansen ones!

They come with a set of directions that were very simple. They also include a small nail file to use.

These are all the nail stickers that came in the box. You can also use these on your toes if you want!

Here is the end result.

My thoughts

I thought these were going to be difficult to apply but they were actually very simple. You start off with clean nails, then find the sizes that best fit your nails. You then stick them on, fold over the excess, and file off the part that was folded over.

I did a little more filing after this photo was taken, because as you can see I left a few pieces.

These claim to last 10 days, I have had mine on for 4 days already with no problems at all. I did apply a top coat to one hand to see which would last longer, but both sides are holding up equally, the only difference is one hand is shinier. You are not required to add a topcoat, I just added it to test it out. I have to say though I do like the side with top coat because it has a great shine, and somehow makes it look more like real nail art.

I have done all my normal activities, washing my hands like crazy, washing numerous baby bottles, laundry, cooking, and so on and they still look great!

I loved these so much, that I picked up a couple more from my CVS.

I definitely recommend these if your looking for something fun for your nails, or even if your into nail art but don't have the time or patience like me, you should check these out!

You can find these at your local drugstore for about $6.99 each.

Senna Cosmetics Sketch-A-Brow Pencil Review!

I received this Sketch-A-Brow Pencil about a month ago, and didn't use it for like 2 weeks, only because I thought I was going to hate it! Lol, I should have known better than to doubt Senna Cosmetics!

I have never come across a brow pencil that I liked, and I have tried many. I like the idea of a brow pencil, it seems quick, you just pop the lid off and pencil in your brows, easy peasy right?! Well all of the ones I tried in the past looked so unnatural. I mean it looked like I drew my brows in, even if I tried to blend it in, it just never looked good.

So this brings me to the Sketch-A-Brow pencil, I was afraid it was going to be like all the others, so I kept putting it off! I finally decided one day to pull it out and try it. I wasn't really doing much that day anyway, just going to my moms, so I figured if it looks bad oh well, I won't be seen in public! Haha!

I started by combing my brows first. One side of the pencil has a little comb.

I also used the Senna Double Brow Brush as well, which is the best brow brush ever! I use mine everyday!

Then I filled in both brows. I have naturally full brows, I have tried wearing them thinner, but that just doesn't look good on my face, so I just fill in a scar I have in my brow, and basically to make them look a little more present.

What I like is the pencil is very thin and small and allows you to make small strokes in your brows, therefor looking more natural. I also like that the tip is sturdy and didn't break off while in use. I can't tell you how many brow pencils I have used where the pencil is just too soft so every time you try to apply it, it breaks off right away, but I'm happy to say I did not have this problem with the Sketch-A-Brow Pencil at all.

Here is a picture of me wearing Senna Cosmetics Sketch-A-Brow. I absolutely love it! It has become my go to brow product! I never thought I would say that about a brow pencil, but it is really great!

The color I am wearing is the dark taupe, which I think is a tad bit too warm toned for my brows but I'm the only one who notices that. I think I might try the light taupe to see if it's more cool toned.

Sketch-A-Brow can be found on http://sennacosmetics.com/ for $18, it also comes in three other colors.

What do you think of Senna Cosmetics Sketch-A-Brow? What do you usually use to fill in your brows?

And now onto my special guest! :D

Here is Nicholas smiling in his walker! Although he can't walk in it yet, he enjoys sitting and playing in it! He is 19 weeks already! Where did the time go!?! He is growing so fast, so we're treasuring every moment of him being a baby! :)

Hope you enjoyed these pics! Thanks for reading! :D

Disclaimer ~ Sketch-A-Brow sent for review. Baby is mine, and he's the cutest! This is my own opinion, but many other people share this opinion! :D

St. Patrick's Day Nail Of The Day, Revlon Posh

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I wanted to share my nails I'm wearing today. I specifically bought this Revlon nail polish in Posh  for today because I thought it would be the perfect shade of green for St. Patrick's Day. I really love it!

I thought I would add a little something extra, so I added a coat of Sinful Colors, Call You Later to one finger. The pictures don't really capture the sparkle very well, but it's a gorgeous green and gold glitter! Love it!

I've really been loving Revlon nail enamels and have acquired quite a few recently, so I'll be posting more notd's soon! :)

What are you wearing on your nails for St. Patrick's Day? :)

Nuance Walnut Facial Scrub Review

If you have been a long time reader of my blog then you probably know I love my Philosophy Skincare products! I stand by Purity Made Simple Cleanser as my holy grail of all cleansers, when paired with the Micro-delivery Exfoliating Wash, it's magic!

I completely believe I achieved great skin with these two products, but I always have one problem with the Exfoliating wash, the granules dissolve way before I'm close to being done with the bottle! This always happens!

I have gone through so many bottles of the exfoliating wash and it's happened every single time! It basically becomes a face wash. This is not cheap so I expect to get full use out of it, but I never can. I always end up finishing the bottle and using up the exfoliate turned face wash and kind of just always brush it off  as no big deal, but it kind of is.

About a month ago my half used bottle of Philosophy Exfoliating wash dissolved yet again, and I needed something right away, so I picked up the Nuance Walnut Facial Scrub while at my CVS.

From the packaging
Finely crushed Walnut Shells gently exfoliate, leaving skin clean, smooth and revitalized. Acai, Annatto Seed & Babassu Oils nourish and help maintain moisture with a non-greasy feel. Caffeine helps firm and tone skin.

I have been using this for the past month and I really like it. It is a bit more abrasive than the Philosophy Exfoliating wash. The Exfoliating wash can be used daily, whereas this one says to use once or twice a week. I guess I'm bad because I use it every other day.

The Walnut Facial Scrub does leave my skin very soft. I haven't had any sort of breakouts or reaction, so it's working out quite well for me.

This is 4oz and I have gone through a third of the bottle already and so far the granules haven't dissolved so I'm happy about that.

The smell is very light natural clean scent, it's not strong at all.

The packaging is in a nice simple squeeze tube, which I like.

I have to say, I'm not trying to slam the Exfoliating wash in any way, because it is a great exfoliate, I just don't like when it dissolves!

The price for the Walnut Facial Scrub is only $7.99 for 4oz which is pretty great deal.

Overall I really like this scrub and would definitely use it again and recommend it to anyone looking for a cheaper alternative for a good scrub.

You can find this at your local CVS or at cvs.com.

Have you used any Nuance products? What are some of your favorites?

So I heard of this Voxbox thing through a few different blogs, but wasn't sure what it was, so I googled it and it brought me to the Infulenster website.

China Glaze Magnetix, Pull Me Close, Nail Of The Day!

I went to my Sally's last week and they had the China Glaze Magnetix nail polishes in, so I picked up a couple of them.

This one here is called Pull Me Close, which is a greyed-blue shade. I also picked up a purple shade but haven't had a chance to use that one yet.

When I first saw these in other blogs I was really excited because I am all for nail trends. I do not follow trends with clothes, but with nails I don't mind because it's fun, easy, and quick to change up if you don't like it.

I wore this for 4 days with no chipping, it would have probably lasted longer but I just wanted to change my nail color.

As far as application goes, it can be difficult. You have to do one nail at a time, because it starts to dry and if you wait too long the magnet wont work. So you paint one nail and then immediately hold the magnet close over your nail for 5 to 10 seconds to get the design to come out, but holding it close without nicking your nails is hard!

I nicked my nails so many times! I found what worked well is to do this in front of a mirror so you can see how close you are getting to your nails to make sure you don't mess them up.

It takes some getting used to but after a few applications you will get it.

Tip~ When applying your topcoat, make sure your nails are dry otherwise you might smear the design you just made!

This whole manicure was very time consuming, so if you have little ones or babies that need your attention I would recommend you do this when someone else is home with you to care for them so you have plenty of time to get it done. I can't imagine trying to find the time to get this done without my husband home, because I have an infant and an 8 year old that constantly need me.

This is the magnet you use to create the design, which is not included with the nail polish, so that's a bit of a downer, but Sally's is giving it to you for free if you purchase two Magnetix nail colors.

Overall I do love the look of this and would definitely recommend it if your into fun nail designs.

You can find the China Glaze Magnetix nail polishes at your local Sally's or Ulta.

What do you think of the new magnetic nail polishes coming out? Will you be picking any up?

Revlon Charismatic Nail of The Day

Here is a quick nail of the day for you! I picked this up on one of my recent nail polish hauls.

This is #610 Charismatic from Revlon. I have always liked orange and coral but I am even more into these colors right now. I think it has to be all the beautiful weather here in California lately! I am so ready for Spring!

I love this color! It's a beautiful apricot creme shade! It reminds me of the lil pageant I was in when I was a kid! There's this Apricot Fiesta in the little town I grew up in, and there's a pageant portion of the fiesta and we had to wear this shade for one of our outfits! This was the only pageant I was ever in, thankfully I didn't have a pageant mom! Lol!

Anyways, like I was saying this color is so cute for Spring.

Unfortunately the application is a little streaky, but I still love the color!

You can find this at your drugstore for around $5 or $6.

Have you been gravitating towards more Spring colors?

Don't forget to enter my Giveaway for a Stila Cosmetics In The Garden Palette, Sigma Travel E25 brush, and more!

Beauty Army Monthly Subscription Review!

There are a lot of monthly beauty sample subscriptions out right now. Last Fall I subscribed to Birchbox, and I'm sorry to be so blunt, but it sucked! I chose the monthly option so I could cancel whenever I wanted to and I'm glad I did. Each month I didn't feel like I was getting my money's worth. The samples were so tiny and it was always stuff I didn't care for.

I still was really interested in some kind of monthly subscription, so I looked into it and found Beauty Army.

Beauty Army is similar to Birchbox, where you subscribe to monthly samples, but it's $12 a month whereas Birchbox is only $10.

With Beauty Army, you get to choose your own samples!

When you sign up, you take a beauty profile questionnaire, they show you a series of photos and you choose which look or style you like best. After that they give you a custom list of products to choose from based on what your answers are.

There are 9 samples for you to choose from and you are able to pick 6 samples to order.

I really liked the option of being able to choose my own samples, so I signed up for the monthly subscription.

The box it comes in is adorable! Then when you open up the inside it has the cute pink camo!

When you open it up, everything is wrapped individually in pink tissue paper, which is another cute touch.

These are the samples I chose, and I have to say these sample sizes are fantastic!

I got a Indie Lee Coconut Citrus body scrub, SheaTerra Organics Bananas & Baobabs Body Creme 1oz, Freeman Pssssst! Dry Shampoo 1.76 oz, Joico Restorative Treatment 1.7 oz, BlingTone eyeshadow in Caribbean Queen, and Weleda Hydrating Facial Lotion.

Overall this is great beauty sample subscription. You definitely get your money's worth and I love how you can choose your samples. I'll be posting reviews on these products soon!

I'm definitely going to stay subscribed to Beauty Army for awhile.

If you are looking for a monthly beauty sample subscription, give Beauty Army a try, I think you all will like it!

Sign up for Beauty Army here

Are you already signed up for Beauty Army? What do you think of it?

Disclaimer ~ I paid for this subscription myself.
