JCat Beauty Wonder Lip Paints Review and Swatches

It's a super hot day today, 100 degrees here in California! I'm sick of this heat!! I am so ready for Fall and Winter and sweaters and boots! Lol! I figured I'd share some hot lip colors with you all on this hot day!!

I had never tried anything from JCat but I stopped by there booth at PHAMExpo and a display of these Wonder Lip Paints caught my eyes!
At first glance I instantly thought of OCC liptars. The packaging is identical.

But would they pack the same color payoff as liptars?! And at a fraction of the cost!

L to R - 111, 113, 103, 102, 112, and 114

So how do they compare to my favorite lip products, the occ lip tars?

First off the scent is minty like liptars are but it's not exactly the same.

They swatch opaque, but when applied to the lips they aren't as opaque upon the first application. They require a bit more product to get even coverage and the color you see in the tube.

A big difference with these is that they are more on the glossy side, where as the occ lip tars are more of a matte finish.

Because the wonder lip paints have more slip to them, they aren't as long lasting as occ lip tars.

I think this could be a plus for some people, as not everyone likes matte lipsticks. It really just depends on your preference.

I have worn all of these shades and the most wear time I have got out of them is about 2 to 3 hours at the most.

They will transfer and fade with eating and drinking.

I like wearing them paired with a coordinating lip pencil. I line and fill in my lips and find that this helps give the lip paint something to cling on to, which helps it last a bit longer.

They do feel very comfortable and hydrating on the lips. They never feel drying throughout the duration of wearing them.

The Wonder Lip Paints come in a bunch of gorgeous colors and even some fun colors like blue, gold, and green!

For the price, I think these are definitely worth checking out. If you are looking for something more hydrating than lip tars then you would love these!

You can find these on jcatbeauty, com for $4.99 each.

Happy National Lipstick Day! Some of my faves!

Happy National Lipstick day!

Being a beauty blogger and lipstick (hoarder) lover, I had to share a few of my favorites with you!

It's no surprise that I have a love affair with OCC liptars! I have stated many times that I can do without any other lip product but these and it's true!

They come in array of colors! You can mix them to create your own custom colors and they are super opaque but can be sheered out with lip balm if that's what you prefer.

Of course I have to mention a few of my other favorite lip products.

1. You can never go wrong with a MAC lipstick! The one pictured is So Chaud. It's a gorgeous orange red. I love wearing this in the Fall.

2. Pretty Zombie Cosmetics liquid lipsticks are amazing. I have every color and they are all opaque and very long lasting! Color shown in Spellbook.

3. Lime Crime Velvetines are really great as well but they are on the pricier side. They are also extremely long lasting. Color shown in Suedeberry.

4. Kat Von D liquid lipsticks are another favorite. I think these are some of the best long wearing liquid lipsticks on the market! There are a lot of bold colors to choose from, which I love! Color shown in L.U.V..

5. A new favorite is the Lorac Alter Ego lipsticks! There are a ton of colors in the line. I picked up a few from PHAMExpo and I'll be reviewing them soon! These are matte lipsticks and are very long wearing as well.

6. On the drugstore end I love the Revlon matte balms. Can you tell I like my matte lipsticks?! Lol! These are just as good as any higher end lipstick! They are matte and opaque. I have quite a few of these and love them all! You can always find these on sale bogo half off or even 40% off at times!

7. Another lower cost lipstick I love is the Flower Beauty lipsticks from Walmart. I only have a couple of these but they are amazing! Opaque creamy color and they feel comfortable on the lips.

8. Back on the higher end we have Senna cosmetics lipsticks. These come in a bunch of different finishes from creams to metallics to mattes but they are all fabulous! One of my faves is the shade Dare, which is a gorgeous violet-purple!

9. Lastly one of my new favorites is the Too Faced Melted lipsticks. I have two shades and absolutely love them! They are opaque and apply smoothly to the lips. The finish reminds of liptars in better packaging! Lol! I definitely plan on getting more! Color shown in Melted Fuchsia.

Well those are my top 10 lip products of the moment, including the lip tars!

This list may change I'm sure as there are always new products coming out, but these are staples in my collection. You can never go wrong with any of these lipsticks in my opinion! :D

And in true beauty blogger form I am not wearing any of these! Lol! Today I chose to wear a new lipstick I just got. I am wearing a YSL Glossy Stain in shade #9 Rouge Laque. I am loving it so far!

What are some of your favorite lipsticks? What lipstick did you wear for National Lipstick day?

Urban Decay Electric Palette Review and Swatches!

I have had this palette since it's release and I have to say I had no intention on buying it at all! I went to Sephora to shop for my birthday back in March and was just browsing. I didn't even expect to see this there since it had literally just launched.

One of the main reasons I was going to pass on this palette is because I have the Sugar Pill pro palette and figured I didn't need two super bright palettes. That thought instantly vanished the second I swatched this beauty! I needed it!!

First of all the packaging is gorgeous! It's a hard plastic packaging with magnetic closure.

It includes a double ended brush, which I actually like. The larger side is great for packing on color to the lid and the smaller end is great for detail work, the inner corners, or lower lash line.

I like that there is a full size mirror the entire length and width of the palette.

Swatches in same order as palette L to R
Top row - Revolt, Gonzo, Slowburn, Savage, and Fringe.
Bottom row - Chaos, Jilted, Urban, Freak, and Thrash.

The formulation on each of these shadows is amazing. They are buttery smooth and pack instant color payoff with a single swipe. The swatches above are with no primer and as you can see none of them are patchy or streaky. This smoothness translates to the eyes and makes them easy to blend.

I know not everyone can wear these colors everyday or maybe you just don't want a whole eye look that's full of color. You can use this like I do most of the time and use it as your pop of color.

I love doing a neutral look and adding any of these shades on the lower lash line. It instantly adds a bit of fun to your eye look. Another way I tend to make this palette more neutral is applying one shade all over the lid and then adding a dark brown/black on the outer corners to smoke it out.

Of course using several of the colors together is beautiful as well, but don't be intimidated by this palette.

If you have been contemplating this palette, don't hesitate! It is amazing!

You can find this at Sephora or Ulta for $49.

What do you think of the Urban Decay Electric Palette?

Influenster Spring Fling VoxBox Review!!

I'm pretty late on posting this, but better late than never! :)
I was lucky enough to get the Spring Fling VoxBox from Influenster. It came with a lot of awesome new products to try!

First off it came with this Labor Day movie themed air freshener. I put it in my car, but unfortunately it wasn't very long lasting. I enjoyed the sweet scent but my husband did not. Lol.

Next I got the Kiss Everlasting French glue on nails.
It came with everything needed to apply the nails.

I usually have a hard time fitting these to my small nails but I was able to find decent sizes. There were a few that didn't fit perfectly because they were a bit to big.

So these claim to not chip on the white French tip, which held true. I didn't have any chipping.

They also claim to last seven days. These only lasted about three days on me before a few of them popped off and others began to feel loose. I'm sure doing loads of dishes and laundry everyday doesn't help with the longevity of this type of glue on manicure though!

I think these would be great to wear for  an event or special occasion for the day. If you use your hands a lot then these might not work for you.

Another thing included was the Playtex sport tampons.

They are lightly scented, supposed to trap leaks, and they have a contoured applicator for easy application.

I'm not sure what to say other than they work lol, although I will say I don't ever buy anything scented!

I also got this travel size Skin Firming Hydration body lotion by Nivea. I have used this before. I actually have a full size bottle at the moment.

I love this lotion! It's hydrating on the skin. It doesn't feel greasy or sticky.

It claims it's suppose to firm the skin in two weeks. I honestly don't know about all that lol, I don't see a difference but it makes my skin soft and that's all I really want. It also smells nice and clean. It's not overpowering and once it's rubbed in, you can't really smell it.

The only downer is that it doesn't have an SPF but it's a great hydration lotion. I  definitely recommend it.

Next I got the Rimmel Scandaleyes Retro Glam mascara in Extreme Black.

I like that it has a big wand yet goes to a point so you can get those small inner lashes.

I am terrible with trying to get lash pics! Lol! I don't have terribly short lashes, but this mascara didn't do much for me. I wasn't wowed by it. I think it's a good everyday mascara to make your lashes a bit more prominent but if you want super long thick lashes this isn't gonna do it, at least it didn't for me. I do appreciate that it wasn't clumpy and it didn't  irritate my sensitive eyes. Maybe you've had a better experience with it.

Last but certainly not least I got the Softlips Cube in pomegranate-blueberry.
How cute is this packaging!

It has an SPF of 15 and claims to smooth, replenish, add shine, hydrate, and protect the lips with the spf.

I have to say it does everything it claims. I absolutely love this! I have used it everyday since I got it!

It does hydrate my lips and makes them feel so smooth.

I love the scent! It also tastes good! Lol! I don't eat it, but if you happen to lick your lips and get the taste it is good! I'm by no means like LL Cool J constantly licking my lips lol but sometimes it happens!

Did you get the Spring Fling VoxBox? What were some of your favorites? Have you tried any of these items?

Thanks to Influenster for giving me the opportunity to try these products.
