New Sephora Cream Lip Stain Shades ~ Review and Swatches

I first reviewed the Sephora Cream lip stain years ago and to this day it's still one of my favorite lip stains on the market.

Sephora recently released several new shades in their lip stain collection, which of course I had to have!

I believe there are ten or so new shades that were added to the collection. I picked up five of the new shades.
Natural light

Natural light
L to R - Watermelon Slice, Pink Soufflé, Cherry Blossom, Whipped Blush, and African Violet
Watermelon Slice is a bright coral/red. This color is hot! It's going to be such a great color for Summer!

Pink Souffle is a nude pink. It appears bright in the photos but on the lips it's much more of a nude pink which I love. I've been searching for something like this for awhile. It's a great everyday color or to wear with more of a smokey/heavier eye look.

Cherry Blossom is a mid-tone semi-bright pink. If you like pink lips but want something that's not so over the top and in your face then this is a great shade for you.

Whipped Blush is a very bright neon pink. This is definitely my favorite! It's fun and bold. This is a great shade for Spring!

African Violet which is a beautiful violet purple. This is much more toned down than Pretty Zombie Cosmetics Purple Poison and Three Witches and KVD L.U.V.. I would say this is a "wearable" purple. It has a slightly mauve look when applied to the lips.

These are just as amazing as all of the previous Sephora lip stains I've purchased.

The colors are opaque and apply evenly and smooth.

They dry down quickly to a matte finish. They don't feel overly drying. Of course if matte lipsticks are uncomfortable for you, you can always apply a little lip balm to give your lips a bit more moisture.

I like to apply lip balm before any lipstick application to ensure I get a nice smooth application and it does help give my lips some hydration.

They have a very slight sweet scent that you only really notice upon application.

They are extremely long wearing. I can wear these for a good eight plus hours with minor fading, mostly on the inner lip area because of eating and drinking.

I honestly can't say enough good about these lip stains!

There are so many long wearing lip stains on the market today which are far more expensive than Sephoras Cream Lip Stains but these are still one of my favorites.

If you're on a budget I would definitely recommend these. If you're not on a budget I would still recommend these! Lol! They are that good.

They are $13 each compared to around $20-$22 for some of the more expensive brands.

Check these out the next time you're at Sephora. You won't be disappointed!

Lorac Unzipped Cheek and Lip Set ~ Review and Swatches

I love Lorac Cosmetics so when I saw this new Unzipped Cheek and Lip set I had to have it. I went to my Ulta the day they got it in stock to pick it up and luckily I went in that day because they only received a few of these in store.

The Set includes a palette of four blushes and one Alter Ego Lipstick in the shade Girl Next Door.
Natural light
The four blushes included in the palette are Underrated, Unashamed, Unapologetic, and Unimaginable.

Underrated is a matte rosy pink. It is great for everyday wear. I've worn this one the most out of all four shades. It goes with everything!

Unashamed is a bright matte pink. This is a great pop of color on the cheeks and perfect for Spring and Summer. I think this will look gorgeous on darker complexions!

Unapologetic is a shimmery deep rosy bronze shade. I don't have anything similar to this in my collection and honestly didn't think I'd like this shade on me but I actually love it. It give a really pretty bronze-y glow to the cheeks. This is going to be beautiful for anyone to wear in the summer when they have more of a tan as well.

Unimaginable is a shimmery light apricot peachy color. I would say this is more of a highlight shade unless you are very fair. I have been using it to pop onto Underrated and Unashamed to get a more glowy look at times and I love it.

All four of these are very pigmented. I suggest using a good sized fluffy brush when applying so you get a softer application. A little goes a long way. They do blend out easily though.

I found these blushes to be very long wearing. I wore them all day without them fading or shifting.

Natural light
Alter Ego Lipstick in Girl Next Door is a pretty peachy/pink nude.

This is a great neutral everyday lipstick shade. I have a few more of these lipsticks from Lorac. They are a matte formula and can be a bit drying but they are very long lasting. They do transfer but they definitely last a good six plus hours. I don't have as many nude lipsticks as I do brights so this is a great addition to my collection.

Natural light
L to R ~ Underrated, Unashamed, Unapologetic, and Unimaginable blush, with Girl Next Door swatched last.

This set is only $30 which I think is a fantastic deal. You get four full sized blushes and a full size lipstick. It's a really great value. Definitely recommend checking this out!

You can find this set on or your nearest Ulta store.

New Ulta Matte Lip Cream ~ Review and Swatches

I saw these new lip products in an Ulta email recently so of course I had to try them right away!
I picked up four new Matte Lip Creams in Vivid, Spirited, Passionate, and Stirring.

Now I must have got ahead of myself with excitement and assumed they were a long lasting matte lip stains similar to the Kat Von, Sephora, Lime Crime, and so on lip stains. What I didn't realize was that this product is named a lip "Cream".

It's exactly that, a lip cream. It applies smooth and creamy. It has a moussey consistency. It does have a matte finish but doesn't really dry and set. While it looks matte on the lips, it stays feeling creamy throughout wearing it. I'm sure this will appeal to a lot of people who don't like matte lip stains for the drying factor.

I personally do love this product. It stays feeling smooth and hydrated on the lips. The colors are absolutely beautiful and opaque. I love how hydrating they are on my lips, especially since my lips have been very dry this winter.

On the down side, they do transfer and fade when eating or drinking.

They last a good three to four hours, although like I said if you eat something it will fade.

This product has a slight scent but it's not fruity or vanilla, I can't quite figure it out, but it doesn't have that cheap lipstick smell either so that's a plus.

These are $9 each, but are currently buy two get two FREE at Ulta!

I'm really enjoying these new Matte Lip Creams from Ulta and definitely recommend checking them out, especially for the price!

Physicians Formula Argan Wear Ultra Nourishing Argan Oil Blush in Natural ~ Review & Swatches

I'm not the biggest Physicians Formula fan as I've had bad luck with several of their products before, but I can't deny that they make some really beautiful looking blushes!

About two weeks ago I placed an order on Ulta for my UD foundation, and of course I needed to add something to my order to get free shipping and came across this blush.and thought it looked gorgeous, so I added it to my cart!

The packaging is standard for a PF blush, The bottom portion has a mirror and brush when you lift it up.

Natural light - unfortunately a cloudy day
The presentation of this blush is gorgeous! I love the design!

Indoor artificial light

As you can see in the flash photo the outer design has a gold over spray. This isn't a fine shimmer over spray. I like a little sparkle, but this was quite a large chunky glitter to be honest. There was nothing subtle about it. I looked as though I patted glitter on my cheeks, which I know a lot of people won't like. The plus side is that it's just an over spray and after you remove the sparkles you're left with a gorgeous natural blush.

Here is the blush after the over spray has been removed. As you can see it consists of three shades. They are meant to be swirled together then applied. It would be hard to pick up the shades separately to apply a single color, so swirling them all together works best in my opinion.

Natural light
L to R ~ The first shade is the outer portion, second swatch is the second shade in, third swatch is the inner center portion, and the last swatch is all shades swatched together.

I am definitely loving this blush. I think this would look gorgeous in the Summer time with a tan! This blush definitely has great color pay off. If you are very fair use a light hand because I can see how this could easily be overkill if applied to heavily.

The finish is not matte but not too shimmery either, it gives a really beautiful natural coral glow to the skin.

This blush also comes in a pink shade as well, but I tend to wear warmer blushes so I chose this one.

The only negative thing I have to say about this is that it is heavily fragranced. It has a strong floral scent. It was the first thing I noticed when I opened it. The scent just hit me hard. It's almost headache inducing, but I have grown used to it. When applied you can still smell it, but after about three to five minutes it fades away.

If you can get past the floral scent I definitely think this is worth checking out.

You can find the new Physicians Formula blush at or your nearest drugstore for around $12.
