Cao Cosmetics Editorial Eyeshadow Palette Review and Swatches

I have another new line to feature here on LipGlossGossip today. When you attend beauty events it's always great to learn of new products or new to you brands!

I learned of Cao Cosmetics at The Makeup Show Pop Up Shop in San Francisco a few months ago and thought it was time to share my thoughts on what I picked up.

At the show they had a display of shadows, blushes, palettes, and even some really nice lighting! I gravitated towards the palettes.

The palette itself is packaged in a standard cardboard packaging. Nothing fancy but it's simple and not too bulky.
The palette opens up backwards which I thought was odd. It seems as though the shadows should be on the other side of the palette. Every time I reach for this I am thrown off and I open it with the shade names upside down since it feels like the palette should be arranged the other way. I think or hope you understand what I'm saying!

With that being said once I do open it I just turn it the right way and have no real issues with it. I mean who am I to say anything, I look at magazines from back to front! Lol.

I was gravitated toward this palette mainly for these six shadows. I figured everything else was just a bonus.

Natural light
L to R
Sassy, Awaken, Chic, Expose, Rust, Glam, Verde, Cosmo, Dusk, Abyss, Sin, and Latte.

The shadows are beautiful. I have really loved using this palette. They all blend beautifully,

They are very pigmented. The swatches above are with no primer.

I think this is a really versatile palette. You get some really beautiful everyday neutrals and some fun colors as well. I haven't really used the blues and greens but I can see myself using them a lot more come Spring time.

This is the Editorial palette but they also make a High Fashion palette that has some super bright shades and they have a Smokey palette that includes some beautiful neutral shades.

They are made here in the U.S..

They do not test on animals and are paraben free.

Now here is the only negative they are $90! I was able to purchase them half off due to being at The Makeup Show but if you were to purchase these directly from the website they would cost $90.

While I love these shadows I would not pay $90 for this palette!

If you find these at a beauty event, makeup show, or a sale of some sort I definitely recommend checking them out!

Ittse Eyeshadow Review and Swatches

I have a new makeup line to feature on the blog today. I came across Ittse when I attended The Makeup Show Pop Up Shop in San Francisco back in late August.

They had a small booth set up with some eyeshadows, blushes, and palettes on a table.

Their whole idea is being able to create customizable palettes.

I had never heard of the line before but definitely wanted to pick up a few shadows to test the brand.

I decided I would pick up four eyeshadows. I passed on their palette because I have quite a few empty z palettes lying around.

First of all this packaging is adorable! It's very feminine and girly. Obviously no one will keep the packaging but I just had to share how cute it is!

Natural light

I opted for four neutral-ish shades.
Left to right is Lincoln, Brut, Barefoot, and Boho.
Lincoln is a warm copper. This is a beautiful lid color. One of my favorite ways to wear this has been on the outer corner blended in with Brut on the lid. It creates a beautiful light fresh faced eye look.

Brut is a shimmery beige. This is another great lid color. I have also used this for an inner corner highlight. It's just a great everyday shade.

Barefoot is matte light pastel cantaloupe shade. This a beautiful transition color. I have used this one a ton. It is pretty light though so this might not be a great transition color for darker skin tones. It would still make for a great lid color though.

Lastly I picked up Boho. Boho is a matte cool mauve rose shade. This is another great transition shade for cooler toned eye looks. I have loved using this one on the outer corner as well with Brut on the lid.

All of these eyeshadows are beautifully pigmented. They all blend very easily.

I have combined them all together and used them in conjunction with other shadows in my collection and I have just been loving them!

I haven't had any issues with creasing or fading. I do always use a primer.

A couple things that might interest you is they are paraben free, gluten free, and they do not test on animals.

I really wish I would have purchased more. I would love to get more products but I don't know where they're sold other than their website. I wish they were more easily accessible. I know most people like to see product in person for swatching and what not.

I don't remember how much I paid for these at The Makeup Show but they're listed online for $7.99 each. I think this is a great price for such beautiful and high quality eye shadows.

They are metal pans so you will need some sort of palette to store them in.

The Ittse palettes are $21.99 each.

Overall I definitely recommend you check out this product line. If you come across them at a beauty event don't pass them up!

Colour Pop Ultra Matte Lipsticks Review and Swatches

Last year the brand ColourPop exploded onto the beauty seen!

I first heard of the brand through Instagram of course. I started seeing it on my feed over and over again. I didn't pay that much attention to it till I learned of the price, everything was very affordable at $5 each for lipsticks, lip pencils, and shadows. I was intrigued by the price but still held out on purchasing anything.

Then they released some new liquid matte lipsticks for $6 each and of course I couldn't pass that deal up!

You know I love liquid lipsticks so I purchased eight. I know, I know eight is a lot but that was me having self control lol! I wanted them all!

I purchased the shades Trap, Bumble, Succulent, Pacific, Highball, Sundae, Buds, and Drive-In.

Trap is a cool taupe shade that is very on trend right now.

Bumble is a warm terracotta shade.

Succulent is a warm red orange.

Pacific is a bright orange.

Highball is a bright warm fuchsia.

Sundae is a cool purple toned fuchsia.

Buds is a bright Barbie pink.

Lastly Drive-In is a cool mid one purple.

This is just eight of the over forty shades that they have now. They definitely have a wide range of colors. There is a shade for everyone.

The texture on these varies slightly from shade to shade, although they have a creamy texture over all.

I had the most trouble with Highball and Buds. The texture of these was almost lumpy so it required work to get a smoother application. They also didn't dry very evenly after application. They were a bit patchy.

The ones that were the best formula and comfort wise was Trap and Bumble.

These two were also the longest lasting on the lips as well. I would say around four or five hours.

Every single one of these peeled and cracked in a weird way.

I would say all the liquid lipsticks I've used in the past when faded, fade from the inner lip area because that is from eating, drinking, and talking.

These though cracked and crumbled off and the weirdest part was it happened from the outer edge of the lip and every other area of the lip as well.

I guess it was just less attractive to have it crumble away in various random areas verses fading from the inner lip like most lipsticks do.

Another negative for me was trying to fix it and smooth over it by reapplying just made it worse. The newly applied liquid lipstick would rub the previously applied lipstick and ball up and look chunky.

It was just a mess. I've never had such a negative experience with liquid lipsticks.

I hate writing bad reviews but I have to be totally honest. I would not recommend these at all!

Before you think we'll maybe she doesn't know what she's doing, I have almost every single liquid lipstick on the market. I've been buying liquid lipsticks before they were the trend. I started with Stilas original liquid lipsticks years ago.

I also don't have dry lips and always prep my lips with lip balm before any lipstick application.

I did try these with various lip balms underneath and none at all to try and get the best outcome but they were a fail time and time again.

I guess this is one of those you get what you pay for instances. For about double that price you can get amazing liquid lipsticks from the Sephora line.

I think the company and customer service is great. They have many other great products. I love their eye shadows!

I would just pass on the Ultra Matte Lipsticks.

Have you tried ColourPops Ultra Matte lipsticks? What was your experience?
