Anastasia Beverly Hills Moonchild Glow Kit Review and Swatches

Anastasia recently released a couple new Glow palettes. I purchased the Moonchild glow kit for myself.

This is the first one I have used. I don't have any of the prior glow kits to compare.

I love a good highlighter and have quite a few of them but for some reason was never interested in the previous glow kits until I saw the Moonchild glow kit.

Artificial light

What drew me to this one was just how different it looked compared to anything else out there.

Natural light

L to R - Blue Ice, Star, Purple Horseshoe, Pink Heart, Lucky Clover, and Blue Moon

These highlighters are so unique and stunning!!

They all have either a duochrome effect or have shimmer/shift.

You really can't see the full effect of these highlighters in photos. I have a swatch video on my Instagram so you can really see how they shift and reflect!

Blue Ice is a pearl white with a violet blue shift and silver sparkles in it.

Star is a straight up silver highlight. There are no sparkles in this one.

Purple Horseshoe is a blue-ish purple with blue and silver flecks.

Pink Heart is a cream with a duo chrome pink shift and silver flecks.

Lucky Clover is probably my favorite! It's a gold with a green duochrome shift! Love it!!!

Blue Moon is a silver with a bit more blue tone to it compared to Star. It has very faint pink flecks in it.

Like I said previously these are so unique. It's not something you would expect in a highlight.

When I wear it you see a nice "glow" but in certain lighting when you move your head you'll all of sudden catch that unexpected shift of color in the highlight.

Honestly I feel like a beautiful alien when I wear this! Lmao! I know it sounds unappealing to some but I love how different it is. It's just very galactic and cool.

If you're not into it as a highlight you can also use these as eye shadows. These are amazing all over the lid or my favorite way to wear them on the eyes is as inner corner highlights.

These are all nicely pigmented and apply evenly on my face. They last a good four to five hours. They never completely fade away but the highlight isn't as visible after some wear and sweat because it's been hot as hell in California lately!

Blue Ice and Purple Horseshoe have a more chunkier sparkle in them and those will fallout all over your face after some wear so I just wanted to note that. Even with applying directly where you want it, after some time and you look in the mirror you will see blue flecks all over your face. This doesn't really bother me. Give me all the sparkles!! :D

I'm very happy with my purchase. I don't know how this palette compares to her other glow kits in pigmentation but this one is great. I know she has around four other glow kits which are much more wearable and natural in tone. So you can definitely find one that suits your needs.

You can find the Moonchild glow kit along with the other glow kits on for $40.

Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré

I have heard of Emryolisse before but never tried any of their products.

Their Lait-Creme Concentré is a very well known and loved product in the beauty industry.

I don't know why but when a product is hyped up I'm always very skeptical and just like it can't be that good, I'm sure I don't need it!

Well let me tell you I don't know how I've lived without this product all my life!

I wanted to show my personal tube just so you can see how loved and used it is!

You can clearly see mine is almost out!

I was given this at The Makeup Show Pop Shop that I attended almost a year ago. I am so glad because I discovered a new favorite must have product!

This has become a cult favorite among many celebrity makeup artists and I can see why.

This product is a moisturizer, primer, and makeup remover in one!

Wait what? Makeup remover?!

For some reason I don't keep makeup remover on hand near my vanity which sometimes I need if I eff up my winged liner! I'm usually scowering my drawers searching for remover!

So one day I'm doing my liner, completely f'ed up one side and remembered the claim that this removes makeup. I grabbed a qtip and a little of this creme and cleaned up my wing in an instant! I didn't ruin my whole eye look with a oily eye makeup remover. This was so easy and quick. I was hooked instantly!

When we were given this James Vincent who's an amazing makeup artists was sharing how he doesn't like primers, which was awesome because I don't either. He mentioned how most primers have silicone and if you have oily skin that slip combined with your oily skin is just not a good match! Exactly why I don't like primers myself! Oily skin right here!

Now I've reviewed primers here on my blog because I've been brainwashed by the beauty industry that I need a primer to make my makeup last all day but really I hate that silicone slippery texture that most primers have.

So that brings me to the Embryolisse Creme Concentré which is a moisturizer and primer in one.

I started using this and only this before applying my foundation and it has been amazing!

The creme is thick and moisturizing. I feel like my makeup looks better on my face. I swear it also makes my skin look a little more plump and tight in a good way!

It doesn't feel greasy and sets into my skin right away.

My face looks very hydrated every time I apply this.

It's sulfate free, paraben free, and not tested on animals!

I honestly can't get enough of this! I purchased more for my kit and plan on purchasing a few more at The Makeup Show Pop Up Shop in San Francisco  next month.

You can also purchase this on Sephora which is great because it's easily accessible to everyone!

You can get a 1oz tube for $16 or a 2.54oz for $28.

I highly recommend the Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentré if you're looking for an amazing moisturizer.

You can pick this up at The Makeup Show Pop Up Shop in San Francisco August 13-14. You can get your tickets here .

Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid Lipstick Review & Swatches

When these first launched I started seeing them all over social media and the commercial on tv as well.

I was instantly intrigued, a drugstore liquid lipstick?! Yessss!!

So of course I was thrilled to get these from Influenster!

I received two shades in Nude Flush and Rebel Red.

I like that they included two shades a nice everyday nude and a bold red.

You know I'm partial to my bold lips so I was most excited about Rebel Red.

The packaging is a standard lipgloss/lipstick tube. It includes a flocked doefoot applicator.

Nude Flush and Rebel Red

Nude flush is a pinky nude and Rebel Red is a orangey warm red.

While these two shades are opaque, Rebel Red is a bit more sheer in comparison to Nude Flush.

These are named a liquid lipstick but they do not dry down like a long wearing matte liquid lipstick. Because they never "set" they do transfer. If you eat or drink they are going to smear all over everything.

They do feel very hydrating on the lips and glide on smoothly and opaque.

I love both shades that I received. I like how they feel on my lips but the one major negative thing for me about them is the smell!

It is so potent! It just hits my nose hard every time I open the tube! It really is almost headache inducing.

I've reviewed a lot of products on my blog that are scented and I generally don't have a problem with them. It's just never a big deal to me because usually after application the scent fades away but with these it just lingers!

It has a really heavy floral scent that I just can't deal with.

Other than that I do like these. The colors are gorgeous and while they are not long lasting they are very hydrating and comfortable on the lips.

They come in a variety of shades to choose from and are very affordable and easily accessible.

You can find these are your nearest drugstore for anywhere from $6 to $8. You can also purchase them online at Ulta and Amazon.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette Review and Swatches

Anastasia Beverly Hills very recently launched a new eye shadow palette.

I was a little hesitant on purchasing this because I've purchased a couple of her other eye shadow palettes and didn't love them.

The palette packaging is a standard cardboard package and has a velvety like texture. I love the mauve color.

The palette is $42 and features fourteen eyeshadows! They're not very large shadows but you are getting fourteen. I think it's a very good price point!

The other palettes I had of hers I didn't love because I felt like the shadows were very difficult to blend and were chalky.

I wanted to give the Modern Renaissance a try because the colors just looked beautiful!

I have used this a lot times over the past couple weeks and love it! I know she reformulated her shadows so maybe that's why I like it now?

The shadows did kick up quite a bit of dust and I did get some fallout but all the shadows built up nicely and evenly. I used some of the mattes all over the lid and didn't get any patchiness.

They all blended nicely.

I love all of the shades in the palette but I think we could have gone without two of the shades as they look so close to other shades in the palette. Love Letter and Venetian Red are so close in color except ones matte and the other has shimmer. Raw Sienna and Burnt Orange are also very close in color. I get the color palette they were going for but I do think they could have gone with a couple other shades in the same color family to compliment the palette. Just my opinion though.

I am really glad I went ahead and purchased this palette because I have been loving it!!

Let's ignore my brows that need to be cleaned up! Lol

L to R
Tempera, Golden Ochre, Vermeer, Buon Fresco, Antique Bronze, Love Letter, and Cyprus Umber.
Raw Sienna, Burnt Orange, Primavera, Red Ochre, Venetian Red, Warm Taupe, and Realgar.

These eye shadows will flatter all skin tones! I definitely think this palette is a must have!

The good news is this eyeshadow palette is going to be permanent so purchase it at your convenience!

You can find this at your nearest Sephora, Ulta, or online for $42.
